yep... thats it!
Wow- those video screens do NOTHING for me.
I've been reserving judgement based on what I keep reading on the boards- but that score def. is lacking- and this is supposed to be highlights?
Based on the clips of songs in the video, I like the music I heard. Still want to see it.
This is almost as good as the FIRST WIVES CLUB sneak peek video. The songs sound just as awful as I remember.
I'm with uncageg on this one. I actually liked the music I heard and would love to see this

I'm sort of disappointed that they didn't include any footage of the title number.

Ok...y'all are nuts. This show looks amazing! The score sounds great! Now I REALLY wanna see it!
"looks amazing"
I agree-that's a great commercial. Wait until you see it all in context.
"The score sounds great!"
You heard about 5 minutes. Wait until you realize the songs do almost nothing to explain a character or propel the show.
Go and check it out. I'm so curious for the reviews.

I have to honest after seeing the clips this musical looks like it will turn out to be like the 2010 film "Valentine's Day." That film had nearly every A-list film actor you you could think of, but critics panned it. This musical has almost every A-list Broadway actor you could think of, but it looks like critics won't like it.

From the video it doesn't look terrible, although it's hard to tell if it's any good, either. The set looks a little junky at times, and the costumes, while individually good, are sometimes a bit much when you see a whole group of people. But Sherie Rene Scott has the right look for Pepa (although I would have liked to hear her sing a song that was either more uptempo or plaintive--otherwise, the music in those clips was neither here nor there) and Laura Benanti looks good as Candela. Will be interesting to read the (official) reviews.
I too anxiously await the "official" reviews. I'd be happy to hear rational reviews of why respected critics love it or hate it. I'm really anxious to read some.
This makes me want to see it even more. I know this is only a few minutes worth, but I love the set and costumes and the cast looks and sounds great. The orchestra also sounds great. Some of the lyrics do sound pretty if though. I do not care for Microphone.
The video doesn't make it look like the train wreck a lot of people have said it is. I wouldn't be against seeing this show.
I like Sheries number here, well, what i heard in the video. It sounds very catchy, but puts me in mind of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels...it's the same composer isn't it?...
Also i like the song Laura sang, always been a fan of very wordy tounge twister songs, and it sounds really fun! =)
but i don't like Patti's at all or Brians duet.
It sounds like an okay score, but from what people on the boards say, i can hear it's true about the score...which is rather sad because so much more could have been done with it.
^ Yes. David Yazbek. I LOVE Patti's song and the song Lara Benanti sang while she was on the phone. I really hope they release a cast recording!
^^
To be honest it's the lyrics in Pattis song, apart from the "He's invisible, like gravity or air", I'm just not a fan...
And i hope they do as well! When else are we going to hear all these great voices singing together?!
I enjoy the song Benanti sang and...well that it really.
Patti's song is fine but it comes out of nowhere and makes little sense. Plus they give her an embarrassing Rose's Turn moment at the end when the song is hardly that climactic.
