BWW: Why are the videos not on the same page as the article?

Dear Broadway World:
What is the point of having the video you're talking about on a SECOND page, with a summary of the article? Can you not just embed the video on the bottom of the same page? Would be a lot more convenient and easy to follow.
For example: https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/BWW-TV-ZARKANA-at-Radio-City-New-Performance-Footage-20110624
It says "Click here to play!" and when I do, I get thrown to another page. Sorry, just irks me. Am I the only one bothered by this? (And yes, I realize I'm setting myself up by asking that question).

Posted: 6/25/11 at 12:29pmIt's been brought up many times before and it's still as annoying as ever.

Posted: 6/25/11 at 1:14pmIt's actually a technical issue involved due to the requirements of our video player and it conflicting w/ our xcache article db caching. We do however have a new player in the works which should solve this problem along with a slew of new features. Stay tuned.

I do hope the "technical issues" get ironed out very soon as I, too, have found this situation extremely annoying for a long time now. Thanks sbflyfan for voicing this issue.

Posted: 6/26/11 at 1:14pmI've always noted that BWW's webpage is a little "2004." When was the last time the page underwent redesigns? And the video player is completely obsolete, as has been established. Where does BWW get their funding? Advertisers? NEA? They should be able to hire someone to rewrite the site...

(This'll sound much bitchier than intended)
Honestly, 2004 is a bit generous. By 2004, CSS 2.1 was established, and this website still uses tables and iframes for page layout (among the many, many, many other practices that died by 1999). It's probably a huge reason why this site hasn't gotten the major redesign it deserves.
