shoot.... he might have been one of those gay guys who likes to play straight and that was his way of "proving it". Some guys DO do that.
Im finishing a High School run of "Applause" (based on "All about eve"), which is all about backstage drama. The girl who got Eve is very talented but manipulative, and would ONLY accept eve or margo (the other lead) - NOTHING ELSE. My best friend, her understudy, wanted that part so much. We thought she should "pull an eve".
In the same show, both stage couples are ex-couples in real life. Nothing wrong theatrically, bc they are all perfect for their role! Too much drama in the drama.
last year my school did M*A*S*H. The two leads, who were supposed to be best friends, HATED each other by show night. YOu couldn't tell from the audience though which was good. Also last year...My theater class had 10 people in it. It was pretty much divided 5 and 5. The 5 "real" theater kids hated the other 5. And EVERYONE hated this one girl, who was AWFUL in many departments.
We were putting on "The Importance Of Being Ernest" and our tect director liked columns. As crew was taking it off stage, our italian intern, who spoke very little english, got hit in the head and was bleeding. It was very bad because he didnt undersntad what was going on. Another time our lead when we were performing...A Funny Thing Happened our lead had a seizer so we had his understudy come on, but it shook us all a bit. Well more than a bit but you know.

I can't tell mine because I don't want to be sued by famous people. But one day you can look for "GothamPC At Liberty"
