This thread is so catty. Loves it.

As for Bailey leaving Blonde, I watched an interview she gave and she said her contract was indeeeeed for 6 months with an option to renew after that. I'm not talking about how long the show will last in actuality, I'm just saying this is what she was offered under the producers assumption that the show will continue that long.

Yeah. And the dog show starts in March of 09. Don't you think the producers wouldn't start another reality show IF they thought LB was closing?

Believing anything you read on this site is a bigger exercise in stuuuuuupidity. These same people have been wrong so many times but nobody on a consistent basis notes when they are wrong and publicly apologizes.

I have done that at least a half-a-dozen times. I've eaten my own doo on this site on numerous occasions, including my utterly embarrassing (in hindsight) prediction that Xanadu would fold in a week.

Please, publish a list because it's hard to tell the poseurs from the pretensers. (Although members of the various shows are apt to PM you with real info. I have had that happen a great deal. Are you listening folks? It pays to be PM-able.)

LOL! How laughable! There are a TON of people on here who THINK that they are important or have inside iformation, but mostly, it's just average people talking out their ars.

I'm still waiting for the guy who kept posting MULTIPLE times a day saying that he knew 1000% that Autumn was the winner and that he was going to be posting his "I told you so" dance on you tube for everyone to watch after she wins on the finale! He even went so far to say that he heard it straight from her agent's mouth at the Tonys! That he knew from VERY RELIABLE sources and had seen proof for himself!

LOL! We all know how that ended up!

Now come on! There may be insiders, but they would not be on here trying to prove how much they know and how little everyone else does.

It's like the joke I always make about "Sources close to Madonna say..." and then I do an imitation of the doorman "Good Morning Mam..." Yeah. Right in the inner circle.

There ARE some knowledgeable people on this site. Frontrowcenter really knows his stuff, I've gotten good advice from edmottershead, best12bars has had a good deal of experience and there's some guy named Shaimen, although his experience is somewhat questionable...

How much did they put into this show? So far its made $49,779,911!

But what does that number mean? The show's been there since, when, April of last year? So you're looking at 65 weeks or so?

So that averages out to, $765,800 or so a week? Which is pretty good, yes. But what's the weekly nut, the running costs? It's not a cheap show to run. How much beyond the initial investment have they put into advertising? Is MTV paying them or are they paying MTV?

$50,000,000 in revenue doesn't say much of anything, unless you know what cost is being putout along the way. And as the producers haven't done the big 'we've recouped!' press release, there's no reason to believe they have. And if they aren't recouping at almost $800,000 a week for over a year, it's hard to imagine they will anytime soon.

WaT, I totally see your logic in picking that date, but personally I'd go with January 4, 2009. I have a feeling a lot of shows will be shuttering that day and Legally Blonde may be one of them.

I give this thread three more posts before the trolls turn it into something negative about the show.

I'm venturing a guess that it will go something like this:

"It's only an AP newspaper! What do they know? My insider says that the show is closing next week!"
"The Colorado Daily doesn't sound like a very reliable news source...I'm still right."
"A whisper, what is that? They will never recoup!"
"You guys just don't understand what money actually means. An average of $800,000 a week at 80-90 percent capacity is not a good number, and if you weren't so blindingly optimistic you would see that."
"When the producers have announced that they have recouped, they will be lying. LB will never make money!"
"It may recoup, but it still sucks."
"Didn't you know, LB has already closed!?"

I was trying to explain the situation of the negativism on this site to some people out here in Los Angeles and I said "If Jesus Christ came into the theater, sat down in the seat beside us and said 'I love this show, I invested in this show and it recouped all its money and made me a nice little profit,' there are people on this site who would still not believe it."

Well some people don't really believe in Jesus. Even in huge matters, so I doubt Legally Blonde would really sway them.

I am under the impression that Guys and Dolls will most likely take the Nederlander. I don't really see Blonde doing well in the winter months, but it could happen, and if it does WSS may have to be rescheduled to a later date like Brigadoon. Brigadoon also canceled their out of town engagement, which WSS could still do.

It is true that Blonde's grosses could be better, but they could be a lot worse, I think we are going to have to wait and see what happens.
