Bare 2012 Album?

I know a lot of us were not fond of the changes, I dont want to make this thread about that, but at the time I remember reading here on the boards that a cast album had been recorded and then one was never released. Were those rumors true? Are the tracks included on Lynne Shankles album from the unreleased cast album or was a cast album never recorded? Id be curious to know what went down if anyone actually knows.

I low key love this show and the music and listen to it all the time. I love the concept album. But I've watched clips of the "revival" and love some of the new music and would love to hear it all. Weird if it's been recorded to just sit on it.

An "official" audio recording definitely exists and was very lightly distributed in some circles. I can't confirm if it was a live or studio album, but if you ask people involved with the production they'll tell you a recording exists.

I've got a copy! It's a studio recording with Matt Doyle and James Snyder. The audio recording is on two discs and there's also a DVD with a documentary about the show. It's packaged in a DVD case.

ETA: Oops!

They’re talking about the off-Broadway revival that totally gutted the show that’s recorded on the studio album you’re talking about.

Thanks for the correction! I'm usually better at paying attention to details but this time I whiffed.
