Barrington Stage NIGHT MUSIC this August: Emily Skinner, Jason Danieley, Mary Beth Piel

This is a pretty incredible regional theatre cast!

FIRST IN THE BRIEFING: Barrington Stage Company has announced casting for its new production of A Little Night Music. The cast will feature Emily Skinner as Desiree Armfeldt, Jason Danieley as Fredrick Egerman, Mary Beth Peil as Madame Armfeldt, Sierra Boggess as Countess Charlotte Malcolm, Cooper Grodin as Count Carl Magnus, Liesl Collazo as Anne Egerman, Noah Wolfe as Henrik Egerman, Sophie Mings as Petra, Kate Day Magocsi as Fredrika, Adam Richardson as Mr. Lindquist, Rebecca Pitcher as Mrs. Nordstrom, Stephanie Bacastow as Mrs. Anderssen, Andrew Maughan as Mr. Erlanson, Leslie Jackson as Mrs. Segstrom, and Slater Ashenhurst as Frid.

I remember seeing Emily Skinner in a San Francisco production of ALNM - she played Charlotte in that production, alongside Karen Ziemba as Desiree, Dana Ivey as Madame Armfeldt, and more notable theatre names. 

Then I recall she also sang "Send in the Clowns" in Prince of Broadway, and it was an exquisite, passionate rendition. 

So after all that, it's cool that she now gets to return to the show full-on, playing Desiree! She's a fantastic fit for both Desiree and Charlotte, so it's great that she will now have played both roles.

Love this cast! Glad to see Sierra NOT as Anne but as Charlotte instead. Much more interesting role for her.

I had the same thought when I saw her name and was like "...did they really cast a 40-year-old as Anne?" I hope she'll be able to bring something interesting to that great role!

Oh lordy, and now it's not letting me change the title. Need to add some more coffee to my IV drip.........

And it's Peil, not Piel –– BWW had her name wrong and I can never remember e-before-i!
