Hey Guys,
When I got tickets to see BMC last December I convinced my sister to get the Squip seats not knowing exactly what that entailed lol We always like to sit close anyway so it wasn't a hard sell. But now I'm wondering if my sister will actually hate the show from all the posts I'm reading and now the almost shutout of Tony noms. We are both over 60 but I work with teens so consider myself pretty hip or is it woke?? lol So what happens in the Squip seats?? thanks

From the Be More Chill Website:
FOR THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE, sit in the Squip Zone (the first two rows) and get an exclusive limited edition collector’s item. (Items created monthly exclusively for Squip Zone ticket holders.)

There is no way of knowing whether or not any individual will like/hate a show. I, too, work with teens - in fact I brought 50 of them with me to see it a few weeks ago. I disliked it immensely, so did about 75-80% of my students. (Many of them actually disliked it more than did I.) Does that mean you will dislike it too? Not necessarily. The only thing to do is go in with as open a mind as you can and you might just find out you both love it. Or not.

Posted: 5/1/19 at 2:55pmI would say the best way of finding out if you like it might be by listening to the original cast album, or at least some clips online. People on here are super reactive so I would take every they say with a grain of salt. I saw some people over 45 on here who said they liked it so different folks, different strokes.

Not sure what else happens in the Squip seats, but I can't really remember anything about the show that will be super horrible from up close (I was maybe 15 rows back).
About liking it or not - I'm 41, and liked it for what it was. Didn't change my life, but I didn't hate it. It was bright, and poppy, and the time passed quickly. I like what was said above - just go in with an open mind.

I know I will like it and my sister won't I've been excited to see it. My question was mainly about the seating and what that entailed. I'd read the BMC site where it said the Squip seats get a gift so was just wondering what that might be and if anything out of the ordinary happened in those first two rows. I've been to Blue Man Group so that was my fear with my sister lol

No, nothing at all specific happens in those seats other than the keepsake, which thus far has, been a lapel pin that is changed monthly (I believe). The stage door manager also runs the Squip Zone, and he will present you with the pin when you arrive at your seat.
A lot of the action is very close to the front of the stage, but there's no interaction with the audience, etc.

Thanks for all the replies. I am excited for our 7 show trip in late May. All the shows I chose back in December got at least one Tony nod.

Enjoy! Be More Chill and Hadestown are my favorite two musicals of the season, and I am *not* a teenager!

Enjoy the show! It’s a really fun, fresh, wacky, weird Sci-fi type of show. As long as you’re there to have fun and realize from the start that it’s not supposed to be a life changing or profound piece of theater, I don’t understand what one wouldn’t like about this show. I’ve seen it a few times and it always just puts a smile on my face. The actors/actresses give it their all.
In regards to the seats you should be fine. The first tome I saw it, I was in the front row on the extreme left and loved being so close and seeing all their faces/reactions/emotions. The main character makes a lot of interesting, weird expressions that are a little hard to see from far away or up high, so I think you and your sister will really enjoy the show from front row.

It's great that you like the show -- this isn't to bash your opinion. But, if you WANT to see what others didn't like about it, just read those threads - because there is PLENTY.

Yep, I've read just about every comment. I understand everyone has different opinions and tastes, and that this show isn't for everyone. I simply just disagree with most of the negative opinions that people have commented on... and that's okay :) to each is own.
