Just to put my .02 in.. I don't think the point is whether or not someone is PROUD of their weight. Maybe it's that word choice. What I believe to be important is that people are proud of who they are. Everyone is a work in progress whether a character flaw or whatever...

If you want to look at the whole idea of marketing, packaging, etc of someone like J Lo - you can rent the pretty crappy - but "funny satire of the industry, Josie and the Pussycats.

Like I said.. not a great movie - but it shows just how ridiculous the industry is as a whole when it comes to "stars"

I would be really interested to see her stray from the comedy chubby power roles and do something really dramatic that would prove what further acting ability she has that maybe we don't know about.

I'm really upset about all this talk of "being proud of who you are" inextricably linked to "being proud of how much you weigh." The two should never be linked, in my opinion. Regardless of how much you weigh you should be proud of who you are. I'm proud of who I am because I graduated from an amazing university. Because I took a chance last year and had an incredible experience with a job in Philadelphia. Because I came back home last May and got a great job doing amazing work for children. Because I love my family and my friends. Because I have goals and dreams and aspirations and don't plan to let any opportunity pass me by. Not because I'm a 5'6" 145lb size 8. And I'm offended by celebrities who portray an image that you should take more pride in your physical appearance than you do in your mental and emotional development.
