Beauty and the Beast changes

I was wondering what changes happened in Beauty and the Beast when it switched from the Palace to the Lunt-Fontanne (sp?) Also, what changes happened in general with the show?

They reduced the ensemble, and "Be Our Guest" was toned down. For example, at the Palace the song ended with the champagne bottles emitting sparks. At the Lunt, it was just smoke.

Also, I'm really interested about how the Beast costume kinda morphed into what it was when they closed

If that was an actual costume in a production...WTF.

re: Beauty and the Beast changes

They made the mistake of babying-up the show. The overall quality was really hammy, while the Palace production was really spectacular.
How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

I understand that they changed a lot, but like what specifically did they change?

re: Beauty and the Beast changes

'Beauty and the Beast' closed at the Palace Theater on Sept. 5 and is coming back in a slightly smaller version to the Lunt-Fontanne Theater on Nov. 12; the cast will drop by seven, including understudies and swings (who fill in for various roles).

They downsized a lot of physical and musical elements, including the example I mentioned above.

The sets used at the Palace Theatre were taken down when they moved to the Lunt Fontanne and they used the sets from the 1st National Tour instead. So I've been told.

My favorite part of the article.

" . . . . . Beauty gets decreased . . . . . "

I BELIEVE Belle could only eat with a fork when they moved. Spoons and knives were no longer in the silverware drawer.
