Here's a shot from Sixth Avenue, with most of the rest of the marquee installed and with the signs lit up. You'll see they've added the globe lights from the original marquee design.

Here is a close up under the entrance marquee, with those neat little hanging doodads added and also some period panels added to the underside of the marquee. There are other spots along the marquee that would seem to have additional globe lighting being added. The Belasco always was underlit on the street - almost dark and sinister - so it seems like the new front of house is going to be a much cheerier affair.

Saw the entire theatre inside the other day. 3 words: SPECTACULAR, MAGNIFICENT, SPLENDIFOROUS! They didn't do cheap and cheesy, thank G-d.
Also: Tasteful, expensive, historically accurate, the best Bway rennovatiion EVER, imho.
One huge lower lounge, including huge restrooms, bar, furniture, etc. Magnificent restoration of the Tiffany and wood ceiling! Magnificent restoration of mostly all of the murals. Windows now in use with great curtains, drapes. New, inner stairwell to the balcony. Yay! Mezz. fixtures (underneath the mezz) replaced by exquisite replicas. Cannot tell the diff from the real thing. (formerly just light bulbs.) High tech new air conditioning/heating system. Fabulous. Lower boxes re-built and replicated to a T, of the originals. Luscious color scheme: taupes, muted turquoise print carpet, gold leaf trim, deep crimson and taupy-gold drapery. Big bar on orch level. Larger orch pit. Addt'l box office window. Marquee being finished now. New front doors. Restored B/o area - windows, glass circles, floor (original). I'm still awestruck.
Can't edit for some reason. All of the under mezz (one of them is an original) and under box Tiffany has been recreated (by master artisans). All the existing Tiffany has been cleaned and repaired. The missing rosettes in the ceiling have been recreated/replaced. Sorry, no pics, but you'll all seen it soon.
Yeah, and those seats seem smaller than ever (but more revenue I guess for the producers - lol). And they're probably gonna charge 500 buckeroos or something to sit in the new boxes ,for "the 'Pone".
I was just going to ask about seats.... so they look smaller? I'm 6'4 w/ long legs so I am curious if this would be bad... What if I had an aisle seat?
Glad to hear everything is going well over there. The Shubert Organization has done a great job of sprucing up their theatres recently - and it helps the shows that play in them too. I can't imagine Boeing-Boeing, for example, being quite as fun if it had been the the grey and brown pre-renovation Longacre.
I can't say I think the seats are smaller, but truth is I didn't test-drive. The boxes are gorgeous. To the poster that asked earlier, it would appear that they will keep the letter-style marquee. At least, the old one has not yet been torn down.
Hi Frogs_! Hope to see you when the new show opens...let me know when you're going. BTW, yesterday I was on a bus going down 7th and could finally see the marquee from Times Square, lit up w/those cute small bulbs. The artwork is so 60's. Love it, but kinda difficult for "tourists" to "name the show"?!!
I've been in there once, and usually lose my way when i get inside some theatres, but what is the orientation of that theatre? Is the stage house in the back or along the side of the street like most broadway houses? (I can see by the lit vertical sign that there is a section that looks like it could be the stage house, or is that where the 'appartment' is?) If the stage house is at the back, where is the access?
