Is anyone going to the first preview tonight ? Seems like there is no buzz on these boards about this show at all.

I’m going tonight. Most of these board members never witnessed Bella when she was alive.

This board generally has little focus for plays in general, let alone lower-profile Off-Broadway ones.

It's a new Harvey Fierstein play, would that really be considered "lower-profile"? I'm excited to hear reports!

Posted: 10/2/19 at 11:11amI can’t wait to see this - I would have gone last night but I had birthday dinner plans. I love everything Harvey does, even the not-so-great things. I also know next to nothing about Bella Abzug, so definitely looking forward to learning something.

For anyone who may have went last night (or those who are going tonight) can you report on the running time? I have a ticket for Thursday night & just wondering when it lets out. Trying to squeeze in a drink with an out of town friend!

II saw it last night and thought it was very good. Fierstein plays it "straight" if you will excuse the expression, no wig, no make up , no drag. It takes place in the bathtroom of a hotel the night of the primary for NYS Senate while she is waiting for results. It's done more or less as converstaion with the audience recounting her life. I knew the basic outline of her career but he does a terrific job ( both writing and performing) of bringing this amazing woman to life.
