I read on here that Bernadette signed a binding contract to appear in all productions of FOLLIES from now until her death, so this can't be true.

I hope so! In a recent interview she said I DO! I DO! is still in the "talking phase" and is too early to tell.

When I read the headline on broadwayworld, I read it as "Bernadette Peters to bid Adieu to Broadway Post Follies," and I almost lost it. If I hadn't realized what it actually said, I may have gone into my crying corner and not left for the rest of the day.

What a load of baloney. You all believe any kind of spin these pr firms put out. The kind of contracts these" hall venue" concerts call for are easily changed for this kind of engagement. The truth I suspect is that either money requirements were not met or she simply did not want to do it any more.

I don't think Jan will go with the show to L.A. (it would be nice, but unlikely). It has been public knowledge for years that she does not like to travel outside of NYC because of her devotion to her family. In fact, if many interviews she mentions that it was a long time for her to make a decision on whether or not she wanted to do the Kennedy Center Production. Asking her to go to L.A. is like asking her to go around-the-world---don't think she will.

This is extremely disappointing I was so looking forward to this show with her as one of the leads. I don't think Jan will transfer now either. I'm very curious to see who CTG gets to take the roles over. :' (

About a week ago Jan said that she was hoping to go LA and that she was trying to work it out. So the transfer isn't an automatic nogo for her.

Since this turned out to be true, I assume the cast member who posted about it is correct, which means Maxwell, Burstein, Paige, and probably Raines are transferring.
