Peters won't do another revival. Her delay in returning to Broadway has more to do with her want to do an original musical after Gypsy and Annie Get Your Gun. She's set to do Bounce, right? (or whatever the hell it's titled now).

Exactly.
I don't think she is "set" to do BOUNCE, Bobby. If sources are right, she only did the reading of WISE GUYS (or BOUNCE, or as you said, whatever it's called now) to sort of get her feet wet and get back to some theater after her husband's unfortunate death. Her role in the most recent workshop was rather small (for a star of her caliber anyways) and she was sort of wanting to be in a comfortable environment (with her friend Stephen Sondheim) and help to shape up the show.
I actually doubt that she will be back on Broadway for a while. As I said before, she has turned down the role of Dolly Levi before, and as her fans we can only hope to see her on Broadway sooner rather than later. I would love to see her do a concert of SONG & DANCE though.

And Marin Mazzie do Dolly.

Bernadette co-hosted LIVE WITH REGIS & KELLY last week and Regis asked her that she should be back on Broadway. She responded that there isn't anything she wants to do but would consider it if the project is worthy, especially since its an 8 performances a week and she'd only do something worthy.

He also mentioned MACK & MABEL's Los Angeles try-out and she had some nice words to say about that and Robert Preston. I'll post the clip on YouTube.com if people show any interest.

Her husband died in a helicopter crash in September 2005.

Ya know, I love Bernadette. But I'm so tired of seeing her do revivals. I'd much rather see her in a new show.

I don't really care who plays the part as long as they have talent. I would just love to see this show on Broadway! I wish this show was selected over the current production of Gypsy. I like Gypsy, but it wasn't too long ago that Bernadette's revival was on Broadway.

I think Bernadette would be a fantastic Dolly. But then, I think she'd be fantastic in any role!
