Exactly when during the show does he "triumph"? He loses control and kills his girlfriends brother and in the end gets killed himself. To me, that is not "triumph".
Also, love does not perservere.

but did radames choose amneris as his fiance? i only saw the show once ages ago, and the sense i get from listening to the OBC is that it was probably an arranged marraige, or at east something he was just doing because it was expected of him. therefore i wouldnt expect him to be a good boyfriend to her.
