Posted: 2/16/06 at 4:38pmA friend I used to do shows with just got hired to "inhabit the world of Ka" in Vegas. He keeps telling me how I HAVE to come see it. Then he says, repeatedly, in this slightly spooky voice, "There's no stage!" Now, I know this means it's all a bunch of platforms and hydraulics, but the way he says it, you'd think they'd only cast people who could hover.

Oh my god!!!!
Ok, so even I have to pay for your ticket, you HAVE to go to Cirque when it comes here in April! It is, in my very humble opinion, some of the best and inspiring art of our time!

I actually saw Corteillo last may in quebec...I liked it.... I also saw Drallion (which I loved) so I was kind of comparing the two (which I don't reccommend). I liked it a regular amount conpared to Drallion, but had I seen Corteillo (spelling?) before I saw Drallion I would have loved it.
Best Cirque Show = Drallion

To post about Cirque Du Soleil on a Broadway board is an insult to Broadway and to theatre. Cirque is a circus, well...but The Lion King is a circus too, and it won a Tony for best musical?
Anyhow Cirque Du Soleil is soooooooo boring. I wouldn't sit through that ever again.

If we go back to Vegas this summer, we will check out one of their other offerings

I had a chance to see La Nouba when I went to Disney World, but my mom didn't want to see it.
I'd love to see O in Vegas, though. But the cheapest tickets are around $100 if I'm not mistaken.
Aren't they making a Beatles one for Vegas?
#43re: Best Cirque du Soliel Show?
Posted: 2/16/06 at 10:31pmI only saw Varekai.
#44re: Best Cirque du Soliel Show?
Posted: 2/16/06 at 10:47pmI saw 'Corteo' in September (Toronto), and it was by far the best one I've seen.
#45re: Best Cirque du Soliel Show?
Posted: 2/16/06 at 11:05pmI worked at Alegria in Vancouver and saw Quidam a year later. I preferred Alegria much more. Verekai is here this summer and I'll probably check it out. The one I'm really dying to see is "O" - it seems more original than the others.

Posted: 2/17/06 at 10:41amI think Varekai is heart breaking and simply beautiful, with those bits of humour that Cirque is so good at doing. It is def my favorite.

M&M,
"Cirque du Soleil is developing a new resident show with Apple Corps Ltd., The Beatles company. The production is scheduled to premiere in 2006 at The Mirage in Las Vegas."

I gotta agree with bwayondabrain and Testing1232:
Yes, "LA NOUBA" is the best Cirque show I've ever seen.
And I haven't seen "O" yet. I should be able to play all the music from that show on my synthesizer at home. It's great keyboard work. Love "A la lune," the Russian-sounding piece, as well as "Distorted," the rock-esque roof-shaker.
Love it.
