I second Crapshooters dance and Sit down your rockin the boat, when done right, they are amazing!
I have this strange fascination with Mimi's dancing during "Out Tonight" in RENT. It's how I grade my Mimi's most of the time.
As far as repeating things:
-All That Jazz
-America
-Music and the Mirror
Slap That Bass - The showstopper in Crazy For You
Susan Stroman did some genius work on that show.
"Cool" from West Side Story
"You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray and the Finale from 42nd St. Kinda surprised people haven't mentioned it much...in the revival it was absolutely breath-taking I thought.
cheers,
Christopher
I'd go ahead and just say anything Michael Bennett

Gotta love them all, even if they're not on my list. Classic or not, it takes so much to make a dance number special and work really well. I think everyone (not here) underestimates the talent of a dancer, especially the critics and the average theatregoer. They think that dancing is a couple choreographed steps that anyone can do if they're taught it. WRONG! Long live dancers. :)

The best dance number ever...?
You mean besides "Who's That Woman?" by Michael Bennett in the original staging of Follies?
"America" - West Side Story
"It's Your Wedding Day" - The Wedding Singer
"I Got Rhythm" - Crazy for you
"Beat Me Daddy Eight To The Bar" from BIG DEAL and "It Don't Mean A Thing" from SOPHISTICATED LADIES popped into mind right away but there are WAY too many to list.
WOSQ thank goodness you said it- there really cannot be a better piece of choreography/ dance drama/ pure broadway, 5-star, no question, jaw-dropping, floor-wiping tha 'Who's That Woman?' in Follies.
I'm putting my fingers in my ears and going 'Lalalala' loudly, because I really won't hear otherwise!!!!
Second choice- way way back- Bye Bye Blackbird.
Love to all.
