Best Dance Number in a Musical

...what is your favorite?

I would have to say (since I am a big fan of fosse)

Dancin' Man-So intricate. Seems simple, but very hard to perform because it is so precise.

Steam Heat- I like the choreography. Plain and simple.

Steam Heat!!!! And seeing Joyce Chittick dance that number makes me want to dance again more than anything!

Younger Brother- I LOVE Crazy For You!!! It is one of my favorites. I have to find a way to get my hands on the PBS version of it!
What is your dream role?
My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). I enjoy escaping and portraying other characters, but to be accepted and wanted as yourself... that's amazing! --Stephanie J. Block Just one of the many reasons I admire and respect Stephanie!!

re: Best Dance Number in a Musical

I love Steam Heat and All That Jazz... and as for the more "modern" Broadway, the choreography to "You Can't Stop the Beat" is rather impressive.

re: Best Dance Number in a Musical

I give my vote to 'You Can't Stop the Beat'. It's so powerful and amazing when you see the whole cast dancing their asses off.

Before I ever saw the show, I told my friend Candice (Dynamite) that I loved YCSTB on the cast recording. She told me "Wait until you see it live!"

Boy, was she right!

Would you consider a ballet as a dance number? Natalia Makarova and Lara Teeter doing George Ballanchine's original choreography to Richard Rodgers' "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" from On Your Toes.
