Best Equity Show on the Road?

I was curious to know which Equity national tour currently on the road do you think is the closest to Broadway quality, concerning cast, sets, lights, etc.

Well I saw Les Miz in Ft Worth Sunday Night. (i had to tape the Tony's). It was better than when I saw it at the Imperial on Bway. Jean Valjean, played by Randall Keith was amazing. Also the 3 times that I have seen it this was the best Marius ever. Joah Young as Marius was great.

I also saw Miss Saigon last week. Don't know if it is Equity or not, but it was so good I saw it twice!

Well I'm seeing Urinetown on Sunday...It opened tonight. What do you know about that tour? Saw it on Bway...Hunter Foster and Jeff McCarthey are gonna be hard to beat.

I am not sure if Jeff is still with the tour or not...he came in for the Tempe, AZ run.

I am seeing Mamma Mia! tour 2 June 29. I heard it is better than tour 1, but is still lacking.

Well I saw the Mamma Mia tour last October. It was great. We sat on the front row, and it was a lot of fun.

I saw it in 2002 and the cast was amazing, but I was far back. This time I have perfect seats: Row G, Center. I am even going on opening night. It pays to go alone.

yah i like to go alone sometimes too. i also like to take non-theatre people and see their reactions. my x-girlfriend isn't really into theatre and i took her to see lion king...she was blown away and was hooked instantly...she loves going to see shows all the time now

the Urinetown tour is fantastic! i saw it in San Fran at American Conservatory Theatre before it went on the road. Tom Hewitt and Christiane Noll were incredible and the whole production was very well done. Obviously Tom is no longer with the tour, but I'm sure whoever is with it now is a solid replacement.

I've never seen Urinetown outside of the first national tour in San Francisco, but it was INCREDIBLE. I'd never seen such a perfectly-cast musical (apart from Bat Boy in Palo Alto, CA, maybe).

The tour was first rate with an excellent cast that works for the jokes so hard yet makes it seem so effortless.

Les Mis is equity and excellent. Saw it 18 times on Broadway, it's just as good on the road (saw at West Point NY - seein again in NJ this weekend) with Randell Keith (the final ValJean on Broadway) as the lead.

I thought the Hairspray tour was pretty top-notch. I saw Carly Jibson and thought she was amazing. I agree that The Producers and Urinetown were darn good. Was not impressed with Millie though.

Hairspray will hit Philly 2005! So will Movin' Out, Little Shop and Millie among others I am looking forward to enjoying!

Ya, Cleveland will get to enjoy Phantom for 5 weeks, On The Record (World Premiere including 3 weeks of tech), Wonderful Town, Movin' Out, Peter Pan, Oklahoma!, and Hairspray.
