Doodle- While I agree that McMartin is very talented and always good, were you really blown away by his work in Grey Gardens? I thought he gave a solid performance, per usual, but just didn't think the role allowed him the opportunity to really shine. He was sincere and committed to the work and sang what he had to sing. But I just didn't find the role to be the kind of showcase that is Tony worthy. Mind you, I'm sure he'll be nominated, as the voters most likely respect him for his body of work, but I personally thought he just did a good job with the limited material he was given. He certainly served his purpose. I just didn't leave the theater thinking "wow!" about his performance. Then again, I didn't love the show, so maybe that tainted my opinion. Although, even though the show wasn't my favorite, I was blown away by the two women and fully expect them to walk away with Leading and Featured awards.

Who knows?

For fun, I'll predict:

Gallagher
McMartin
Chait
McCarthy

Ashmanskas is always solid, CurtainPullDowner. I haven't seen his show yet though.

The Featured Actor and Actress category is usually my favorite, so I'll be anxious to see who takes these this year.

QB, I was really impressed with him in both roles, even if they were not flashy. I'm not saying he should win, or even be nominated if there are others better that I have not seen. That has not happened yet, however, including Gallagher, who I liked, but thought he should've held back a bit...and I dont think Cavanaugh deserves to even be nominated, except, perhaps for best hiney on bway...

Doodle-

I agree with you about Cavenaugh. Fine performance, but not really award "worthy" (for lack of a better word) in my opinion.

But(t), you're right. He is cute! And if you're into that kind of thing, have you checked out the Pirate Boys? Very nice eye candy. The ensemble boys are mighty fine, and watching Hadley and Marcus battle it out will really float your boat.

But back to the discussion about serious acting.

Enjoy!
