Best Featured Acotr for the 2007 Tony's

I haven't seen Les Mis, so I don't know if Gary Beach is good in the role or not, but he has a snowball's chance in hell on a nomination.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Seconding Johnny Gallagher.

Gavin Lee (or is he considered leading?)

What about Brian d'Arcy James? Is that a leading role, or do they only consider Chenoweth's character to be leading? Anyway, Brian was the best part of The Apple Tree.
Who else is elligible this season?

If they have considered Marc Kudisch as featured, D'Arcy will probably be featured as well.

John McMartin. Absolutely wonderful, plus it's long overdue.

An acotr is the same as an actor I'm guessing...?

No they are two different things.

All three APPLE TREE cast members are above the title. From what I understand Kudisch alone has been ruled as Featured despite his billing and Chenoweth and James remain Leading.
This isn't much of a year for Featured Actors in Musicals so far. The only clear standouts I can think of thus far are John Gallagher, Jr. and Matt Cavenaugh.

I think and hope that this will finaly be Marc Kudisch's year!

I dunno, he was good in Apple Tree but nothing truly special, IMHO. If James is considered leading, I'd have to give it to Gallagher, who was just great to watch.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if Kudisch scored a nomination but I honestly don't think this is his year to win. This role doesn't give him much to work with. I would have handed him the Tony for MILLIE, even for CHITTY. He'll get his some day, but I don't think this will be the role he wins it for.

Matt Cavenaugh? I thought he was great, but I think Edward Hibbert seems more likely.

I was debating that. Not having seen Curtains, I don't know anything beyond Monk/Pierce being leads.

McMartin has been around forever, has been nominated 5 times before and has never won. I think this is his year, but Gallagher could upset.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

Edward Hibbert is not only likely to get a nomination but he's McMartin biggest competition for the award.
I think it'll look like this:
John Gallagher-SPRING AWAKENING
Marc Kudisch-THE APPLE TREE
John McMartin-GREY GARDENS
Edward Hibbert-CURTAINS
John Cullum-110 IN THE SHADE
Possible spoilers: Matt Cavenaugh (who deserves a nomination), Jeff McCarthy, David Pittu, Jason Danieley, Daniel Jenkins.
Marc Kudisch' award in a way will be the nomination, his role is too small compared to showier roles like Hibbert's but his portrayal of the snake alone makes him worthy of a nomination for me.

As great of a musical theatre actor as Daniel Jenkins is, I'd be VERY surprised if a performer from MARY POPPINS takes a nomination slot away from a performer in a much more respected show.
