Posted: 11/25/06 at 1:02pmACL has little to no chance of winning. There is nothing original about it and the cast is mediocre almost in its entirety.

Kiki and Herb gets in there as a special theatrical event, and then possibly Martin Short. So there will be definitely 3 nominations, maybe 4. If Martin Short is a musical, Jay Johnson will win special theatrical event, unless something else amazing squeezes into the Helen Hayes before spring.
EDIT: If Martin Short is a special event, then the Tony could go to either Jay Johnson or Martin Short. It's a tough call.
As for revivals, Les Miz won't even get a nomination. The four slots will be as follows:
A Chorus Line
The Apple Tree
Company
110 in the Shade

Les Mis
Company
The Apple Tree

I personally think it's between Les Mis and ACL for the 4th nomination. It could go either way but I feel Les Mis is the stronger production based on cast and changes made to the show. Neither will win.

Oh I agree that neither will win. But I do think that Chorus Line has way better chances of getting nominated for the following reasons.
1) As a stand alone production, this ACL is much better than this Les Miz.
2) Chorus Line has been gone longer, and thus feels more like a REVIVAL than Les Miz's return from its short hiatus.
3) Aspiringactress said that ACL's cast is almost mediocre in it's entirety, which I completely disagree with. The dancers are all great and much of the acting is good. Only Charlotte, Deidre, and Michael can be considered mediocre. If you want a mediocre cast, look at Lez Miz. When Enjolras stands out as the best cast member, there's a problem. Aaron and Celia are the only two good things about this show.
All in all, Lez Miz will not be nominated...just look at the reviews if you don't believe me.
