So out of the past few months, or whatever you consider recently, what is the best show you've seen (Broadway, however if it was an off or off off or whatever production it was, mention that)?
My favorite would have to be DRS
Seen Spamalot and The Light in The Piazza and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels recently (saw some other shows, but not Broadway) and DRS is my favorite, it was so funny. I heard some friends tlel me they saw it without Norbert there and I honestly don't think it'd be as good without him... he did an amazing job, the cast has great chemistry and Nobert and Lithgow do awesome. It was so funny, great show.
If I could say a non-Broadway show it'd be seeing But I'm a Cheerleader like a lil over a month ago, that show was great.
So yea, that's mine... how bout you guys?

Hands down sweeney. I was about 90% satisfied. Avenue q as well, did not expect me to like it so much, as I have always been bitter over it winning the tony still. However, when lottery calls! Got there and absolutely adored it more than I ever imagined. Barrett, stephanie, and the rest of the cast are just brilliant
edit; and when I say 90% pleased, thats pretty damn good because it is in my opinion, what I see as the most perfect show in musical theater history. I had such high expectations only because of the high regards I hold the show in. It is my favorite and when seeing it loved it sooo much. For it to have hit 100, I felt it should have had more of the music(I was pleased they added Judges Johanna though!), and I had seen the first preview. I can only imagine the musical cuts having some effect on me knowing that they even edited it further after I saw it. The cast, concept, instruments, orchestrations were top notch. Couldnt be more pleased with casting choices, just loved it so much.
good news- i have never even heard of it until i saw it :S- but absolutely adored it
The Light in the Piazza back in August. That was glorious.

Based on what I've heard, from the opinions of people that I trust, if I were responding to this thread after November 18th, I think that I might be saying "Sweeney Todd" but since I have not seen this revival yet I would have to say "The Light in the Piazza".
The Light in the Piazza i saw a few months ago and it was astounding. i really didn't know what to expect but i was blown away by the sweeping emotion of the storyline and music. it was also the last show that my whole family got to see together so that was something very special to me.
i saw spelling bee last week and loved it, it was soo funny; it was also my boyfriend's first broadway show and he's starting to really like bway, i dont think he really understood my passion for it before i took him to see spelling bee.

It's been a few months since I've seen a Broadway show, but the best things I've seen recently were The Light in the Piazza and The Pillowman.
Sweeney is at the top of my list of things I'd like to see right now.
The Light in the Piazza. I haven't seen a musical in a while ,but I'm seeing Sweeney soon.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
I'm seeing Sweeney in a few weeks though, can't wait. :)
