Not on Broadway ( but hopefully it will get a chance to get there) -- but it played at the Donmar Warehouse on the West End:
Michael Ball's critically acclaimed "ALONE TOGETHER" - a story about the life of a performer told in songs and half-songs ( encompassing songs of Broadway's and America's best composers - Jolson, Berlin, Porter, Gershwin, Styne, Kahn, Herman, Schwartz, Rodgers/Hammerstein/Hart, Ellington, Kern, Merrill, Sondheim,Yorke, Bowie, Guettel and many more). There are no words spoken but simply a musical tapestry of song and acting.

Btw, if you're interested, ALONE TOGETHER is available on DVD. It was released on Region 2 and Region 1 - but I am not sure if there are still available Region 1 copies. Try Amazon.co.uk.

I Am My Own Wife----Brilliant
Golda's Balconey------Tovah Feldshuh is beyond fantastic
I saw Say Goodnight Gracie and really enjoyed it also but
the above two left me thinking I had witnessed something extraordinary.
Jefferson Mays plays about ten or so completely different characters and the audience is spellbound. You cannot excape his eyes. Please see it.
I agree with the posters who mentioned I AM MY OWN WIFE. It was even more thought-provoking the second time seeing it. It is unlike anything I have ever seen and offers no easy explinations.
Ditto THE SEARCH FOR INTELLEGENT LIFE...but I'd LOVE for Lily & Jane to write a sequel.
ALONE TOGETHER sounds very intreguing.

FULL GALLOP comes to mind
as well as the David Hare piece, the name is escaping me.
One musn't forget A CHRISTMAS CAROL, whether with Patrick Stewart, Alec McGowen, or Charles Dickens.

the best I ever saw was Lily Tomlin in Appearing Nightly........
followed by
Robert Morse in TRU
I believe the David Hare piece is called 'Via Dolorosa'.
I adored FULL GALLOP.
But I truly believe the best one person show will be THE SANTALAND DIARIES coming this December in NYC, starring ME!!!!

I have to agree with THE BELLE OF AMHURST. Julie Harris was splendid.
However, in the near future we'll be able to see AN EVENING WITH CAROL CHANNING.
I agree about Patrick Stewart and Fully Committed. I can't wait to see I Am My Own Wife.
