Laura Marie Duncan for both Fully Monty and Dirty Rotten.
I was never sure about this but I thought Charlotte d'Amboise was a replacement never an understudy.

Hmmm I really enjoyed Norman Large as Fosco in WIW.
I had some great ones of the past year,
Ginnifer King as Shelby in Steel Magnolias
Megan Hilty as Glinda (b4 she took over)
John Traecy Egan as Roger DeBris
I'm sure there are others.
And now for da bomb!
Maureen Moore as Rose in Gypsy.

I'm sure there are others I've seen in other parts that have done them justice, but as soon as I read this subject, the name Linda Muggleston (sic) in Wonderful Town came to mind. She was so great, I couldn't imagine anyone else in the part.
When I saw the show again with Brook Shields, although she was pretty good, Linda was outstanding. I can't even imagine Donna Murphy was better than Muggleston.

I hear that Emily Rozec as Millie is fabulous like jonartdesigns says. I hear that she is also a great ensemble member in the Wicked Touring Cast.

Add me to the Linda Muggleston love. She was just lovely in Wonderful Town, she received a very worthy standing ovation. It was probably especially victorious for her since when they announced Donna Murphy was out that night, many audience members groaned and some tried to leave (they were forced to stay). But by "One Hundred Easy Ways", she had the audience eating out of her hand. I was thrilled for her.
