for baby its you, really was the field that weak for actress in a musical?
Updated On: 5/3/11 at 09:04 AM
Yes, it was.
It should have gone to Sherie. Nominating BABY for anything at all is ridiculous.
Agreed. Sherie would have been far more deserving.

jumping on the I'm bummed Sherie wasn't nominated bandwagon.
Women on the Verge was basically the Sherie Renee Scott Show featuring Patti LuPone. She should have been nominated. If the voters felt the suffocating need to give Leavel a nomination they should have just kept five slots in the category.
"Baby its You" is the ONLY new musical this season i have not seen. Is her performance really worth seeing?
I actually thought Beth's performance in BABY IT'S YOU was over-the-top awful. I was in pain during some of her one-liners.
Sherie was much more deserving of the fourth slot.
Sherie and Janet are more deserving then Beth Leavel in my opinion.

I'm not rolling my eyes because I thought not only did she deserve a nomination, she was the best of the four.
I hope she wins.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Stop sniffing glue. Should have gone to Sherie & not the terrible "Baby It's SH*T"

Honestly, I think Sherie's snub and Beth's inclusion speaks more as to the general feeling about those women in the Broadway community than their performances.
This is a repulsive thread.

@AFTER EIGHT , seriously? I can understand wanting to defend her inclusion but to say she was better then sutton foster and patina miller your out of your mind. I liked Beth alot more in elf then this and that says alot.

I said it because I believe it.
If you don't like it, that's ok by me.
Beth Levels got the nomination because she is Beth Level and has a lot of respect around the community. Baby, It's You is the saddest carrer choice she have made so far- it's just painful. I wish Beth a future with bigger and better roles, she has tons of talent...
PJ is right. This thread should be deleted.
Have some respect, even a tiny bit. Bitter, bitchy and oh so condescending.
Congratulations to Beth on her nomination! And to all the nominees!
I wish some others had received nods, but, for the those who did, I say, "Good for them!"

im sorry i thought I had something called free speech, and obviously looking at this thread im not the only person who agrees with what I said.... I posted this because I wanted to know if anyone agreed with me on a thought I had, several people do.....

People aren't so much objecting to what you're saying as much as the way you say it - at least that's what I object to. You're rude and disrespectful. Anyone who disagrees with you must be "out of their skull" or "high" - and speaking of HIGH, remember how wrong you were about that? Not to mention how rude you were to people who disagreed with you?
You "roll your eyes" at a nomination of a talented performer. You sound very young.
im sorry i thought I had something called free speech
You do have free speech - as does everyone who has posted in this thread. They are free to believe that this thread is in poor taste just as you are free to ask people if they're "high".
I haven't seen the show but if I am not mistaken Beth's performance was one of the best reviewed aspects of the show. So, I'm not shocked by any nominations for her. I have seen her in several shows and have find her to be quite talented.
If you want to have an intelligent discourse on why you do not feel Beth deserved a nomination then that is fine. But if you're going to be on the attack expect people to respond in kind.

i find her quiet talented too, as i said I greatly enjoyed her in Elf, but she seemed so bored in this show.
Beth "Leavel" would love it if you spelled her name correctly.

there i changed the subject title and i made my response to after eight more polite.
did you actually see BIY or making your horrid remarks based on the opinions of others.
i saw the show on Sunday night and enjoyed it quite a bit and thought Beth was great. Problem with the show it appeals mostly to us baby boomers.
