Bette Midler/ Hello Dolly Stage Door

There's way too much random BS under the hellodolly hashtag. Where are you finding these stage door videos?

"I just googled "hello dolly stagedoor" and found a few YouTube videos.  Tried the hashtag approach first and realized the same thing so went back to the old fashioned way!

Just wondering if there was any update.  Has anyone been to the show in the last two three months where Bette has come out the stage door at all?

Yes, Bette as mentioned above, does come out of the stage door nightly.  Please read the thread and you'll get your details.  She doesn't sign anything nor pose for photos.

I don't seem to think that recently she has been coming out anymore. Haven't seen any recent pictures at all on social media of her even just being out there and waving or anything. I think she stopped to be honest.

At minimum, she waves to people on the way to her car, and her car was there last week during showtime, so... there isn't much wiggle room on her "coming out" if she needs to get to her car, and they can way more easily block it off and put gates up in Shubert Alley.

Actually... there have been days when security has discouraged her  from doing the stage door thing.  It does get really crazy in Shubert Alley.  And I have been told that at least twice she has left the theater in plain sight.  As she mentions in the morning show interview.. she is very good at doing that. .

If you want to meet the cast of Hello Dolly! go on a night Donna is singing. Much smaller crowd and the cast are all really nice and chatty.

Warning: Taylor, Beanie and Donna look so different from how they are onstage, so you can easily miss them. I think Beanie wears a fat suit and Taylor wears a wig for their stage roles. And Donna wears a frumpy curly red wig and a lot of makeup to make her seem plainer and older than she looks offstage.

Sweetheart.  Of course the crowd is smaller on a Donna night.   Did you not read the title of the thread?  They are asking about Bette.  Must you make everything a Bette vs Donna thing?   And of course they all look different.  Sometimes if you have nothing to say it is best to do just that.

Personally I was under the impression that she stopped doing it. Would love to hear any experiences of seeing her in the last couple of months.

Stop thread-stalking me. Do you have nothing better to do than to be the Bette Nazi of the board?

Donna Nazi;  I am not thread stalking you.  We just like talking about the same things.  And I have not been on in a while.  Please forgive my snark.  Next time I will add little smiley faces and winks.   You do have to admit that after that whole thing of blaming Ethelmae for Comets box office downfall you do have a little snark coming your way.  That one will sting for a while.   So don't act so innocent.

What happened with Ethel?   I like him.   You are all bored.  Me too!

It was something about Ethel's repeat viewing of hello Dolly and people like her is the reason Great Comet was failing .   But seriously I did not mean to offend.  Was just having a little fun.

Yikes. I'm going on Sunday and would like to get my playbill signed by the cast and I my trip ends before any Donna shows... Even worse, I'm seeing it from the balcony.

So this is consistently five-six people deep?

Unless you are directly behind one of the 3 barricades AND are lucky enough for her to do her standard walking around shaking hands (she's doesn't sign nor stop for photos), you'll at least get a glimpse of her walking to her car while waving the entire time.

She has stopped doing this all together.  She probably sneaks out in plain sight,  You can tell if she is coming-out or not by if the car is there or not.
