Between Shows Ideas?

My dinner plans fell through, and now I'll have about three hours between "Miss Saigon" and my 8 pm show to kill. Any ideas for cheap yet decent things to do solo? I'd rather not get on the subway, as I have the world's worst sense of direction. Thank you!

MOMA would be totally perfect, except my show gets out at 4:45 and MOMA closes at 5:30. Many thanks for the suggestion!

Take a walk at Central Park?

If you like architecture, then there are some great buildings within walking distance . NY Public Library is always nice to visit by Bryant Park. Chrysler Building is down 42nd st and Grand Central Terminal is awesome to check out. St Patricks Cathedral up on 5th Ave.

Weather permitting, you can easily walk around and see quite a bit - you still have to eat!

Enjoy!

Great ideas! I've never been inside the NY Public Library.

NY Public Library is a great suggestion, do a self tour though, the guided is a bit long. And the library has the best gift shop!!! :)

Observation decks. Rock center or Empire State. Dinner.

Walk east on 42 to 5th. Walk up 5th to 59 and window shop/shop. Turn on CPS and enjoy the park and all the vendors. Turn left at 7th and head into Times sq. stop at a deli and have a cheap easy meal.

Walk or take the S to grand central. Marvel and wonder. Have dinner downstairs. Visit the transit store.

Take the subway down to canal. Walk down canal and shop or window shop. Go up mulberry and have a little Italy dinner.

Walk up 9th and try and find a new favorite restaurant

my personal favorite: Grab a slice and go back to my hotel room and re-read my program and rest !

This definitely wouldn't kill three hours – but there's the Broadway Gift Shop in Shubert Alley that sometimes has cool stuff!

Have dinner at a place like Joe Allen's-- only eat at the bar. Your apt to have good conversations there and maybe get into some good Broadway gossip.

I sometimes kill some time on the 8th floor of.the Marriott Marquis. They have 2 nice lounge areas with TVs where you can have a drink, read a book or a magazine. They also have framed window cards of past Broadway shows on a lower level which are always fun to visit.

I know it is undergoing construction but it's worth a look..
