Kristin Chenoweth, and not just because she lost the Tony. Did every joke she and Alan Cumming make have to be about who they wanted to f*ck? So, him, too.
So in turn, he writers of the ceremony, and the producers of the ceremony.
But it was a BIG WIN for the American Musical Theater and its future!

I LOVE that the jokes were about having sex. Thank god there is someplace left in the world where there's booze and lust and no trigger warnings, even if it's just the imaginary backstage at the Tonys performed for the cameras.

I don't really like the Tonys being positioned as a comedy special.

Great night for American musical theater.
Terrible night for American drama.

We're long past the era where awards shows don't acknowledge how tedious and overblown they are. Not that It Should Have Been You and the cast of Jersey Boys should not have been treated with the utmost respect and seriousness. And the hand puppet guy.

I hope Bradley Cooper got some choice poontang after.
Those new guys in Jersey Boys at the end...

I love a good sex joke, too. But it has to be a good sex joke.

You would have liked it if Kelli O'Hara made those jokes.
She wouldn't have made those jokes. That's the thing.
If the writing had been better, I'd have applauded their performance as dual hosts.
And for the record, I think Alan Cumming is a lot of fun and terrifically talented.

I didn't think your disdain was really for Cumming.
Look, don't bring me down from my FUN HOME high, man. It's a great night for the musical theater. I'm happy. Let's all be happy. Happy happy joy joy. C'mon.

I certainly don't. I almost did a few times tonight. But Alan wasn't onstage.

"THE VISIT will pot a closing notice on Monday. AAIP will do just fine for a while."
I doubt they'll post a notice today. Maybe tomorrow. But not today.

Really didnt get "The Visit" number. I am guessing this is a better show than the number reflected?
Sutton Foster-her ex gave her ex a Tony. <awkward>
Laura Bell Bundy-the reason Sutton's ex became her ex was there last night and got crapped on by a bird on the red carpet. Karma is a beeyotch!

I love Something Rotten & it's my favorite new musical this season, but I'd sadly consider them one of the biggest "losers" of the night - nominated for 10, only winning 1. Sad. I hope they continue to sell out the house for years to come!
Probably CBS, with having to compete with the nba finals and game of thrones.
"AAIP did win four technical awards, so I wouldn't quite call that getting taken to the cleaners."
Are choreography and orchestrations considered "technical" awards?
