I was in total support of this show. I looked forward to it even after all naysaying here and in the press. However, for me, it just didn't deliver. I wanted to like it, I wanted it to soar. It just didn't.

I can't blindly support something because it tried. Look at how many of us went to see it despite the reputation and reviews -- they got our support in the best way possible: they got our money. I'll give a kid that turns in a crappy paper a D- because he turned it in -- not a C because he normally doesn't. You have to back up the promise with quality. B&C didn't. (for me.)

I truly believe that 95% of the folks here -- regardless of how they felt about Wildhorn -- would have allowed themselves to like it if they truly did.

I'm so glad that the audience gave the cast a good send off last night. I still wish I could have been there, but I'll cherish my Bonnie & Clyde memories for a lifetime. This show, and the cast is so special to me, I look forward to seeing what 2012 will bring everyone! :)

I loved the way the show opens and ends. If anyone knows anything about Bonnie & Clyde, it's how they were killed, so it's not like the opening is spoiling anything. But if you didn't know how they were killed, at least to me, I feel it will make the person become more interested in what these kids did to be killed in such a brutal way. And the image of Young Bonnie singing next to her dead body about her dreams to be in the pictures is heartbreaking. And I love the ending, it's so bittersweet. Bonnie & Clyde are SO happy in that moment, Bonnie is excited to see her Mamma one more time. Despite their current circumstance, they are just happy to be together. They don't know that they are never going to see their parents again, they don't know that this will be their last drive together, but WE know what's in store for them. It almost makes you want to yell to them to not go down that road because in that moment we just want them to be happy, to survive. But then we are reminded once again of their brutal death by the pictures of the real Bonnie & Clyde's death. To me it's sad to see how happy the couple is in that moment, but just knowing what is going to happen to them in that blackout.

And I love the use of the song How 'Bout A Dance in this show. In the opening sequence the show starts out with the orchestra playing the song, until the death car is revealed, it then sounds like the song is coming from the radio. And then the show ends with Bonnie singing a line from the song. I love how the show begins and ends in the same moment. When you see the show again I think the opening is more effective because you know what happens the moments leading up to their death.

"totes"?

That's so 2008.

Aren't you done pissing all over this show and those who like it? The show's closed. It's so petty and schoolyard to rub it in.

Okay bobbybaby.

Seriously? What is your problem? Did Millie at ANY point say ANYTHING to offend you? Did they at any point say anything that would require you to have to have a snarky comment as a response? Get a grip, all you have done is put down anybody who saw the show and "dared" to like it. Guess what, no one is going to like all the show's you like and hate all the shows you hate. It's part of life. But what won't get you very far is to jab everyone who disagree's with you about something.

You mean that kind of comment doesn't make him one of the cool kids?

Not any more than using "totes" will. :)

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, dramamama, but now I think he really is a kid trying to be cool, and failing miserably. Either that, or he's just a common troll.

The producers did as much damage as the critics did in their clumsy handling of the show.

bobbybaby85-I am sort of embarrassed for you! Driving home a point is one thing, but the wholesale slaughtering of this show is just pitiful at this point. Let it go!

"Telegraphing the ending in any show is bad story telling, let alone one we ALREADY know the ending to!!!"

Possibly you've heard of a technique called foreshadowing?

No? Look it up - it's far from uncommon. As to the rest of your post, if you're "sorry" (and I don't think you are), the solution is simple - don't attack.

If it was a one time deal I would believe that you are sorry, but you have done it a few times now.
And yea, just because it does not fit into your mold of a "perfect" musical does not make it a bad one.

Bobby, I was just simply explaining why I like how the show begins and ends. You didn't like it, that's totally fine. I fell in love with this show, but I can understand how this show may not be for everyone. I've seen some shows in 2011 that I'm not that fond of (and they are huge hits too) I don't care if other people love shows that I hate. Everyone has different taste in shows. I just don't understand the hate towards the fans of this show. If it really bothers you that much that other people love a show that you hate, then it might be wise to stop reading every thread that has to do with Bonnie & Clyde. Just a suggestion.

Also another major issue, don't use projections if you don't know the right way to use them, I.E projecting pictures against a surface with spaces in it looks awful.

LOL. The projections was one of the things I DID like about the show. (And I don't like projections very often)

I think I liked them for the same reason I liked them in The Normal Heart -- because they were a constant reminder/tie in to the reality of the subject

(No other comparisions to be made with Normal Heart -- I promise!)
