You need to precede it with http:// to make it automatically clickable.

(No comment, except wow, that blogger really needs a copy editor.)

Interestng comment by a reader:
"Why didn't they make "Islam, The Musical"? Because Mormon's don't shoot back".

Posted: 6/25/11 at 12:20pmWhat a terrible article. Not only has the writer not seen the whole musical, he also declines to mention the less-than-scrupulous history of the LDS Church in his description of bigotry against Mormons. Yes, they did face prosecution- some of it heinous and uncalled for. But they did their fair share of crimes. The early Mormon settlers were not meek or nonviolent. Towns were burnt and sacked, people killed- on both sides.

luvbrdway, you might be hard pressed to find a lesson about posting links on message boards in a class...
You can also just use the "optional link" and "link title" fields in the posting form, which are the next two after the message field.

Looks like this guy's been bashing the show he's never seen for a while now.
Book of Mormon Washington Post#9
Posted: 6/25/11 at 1:04pmIt's that awful Huffington Post article all over again. You know, the one where the writer said mocking the Mormons was no different than the man who burned the Quran recently? The beats are even the same, down to the writer admitting he hadn't seen the show.

Posted: 6/25/11 at 2:15pmIt's painfully distressing to see a professor of Philosophy with such a rigidly closed mind and tenuous grasp of the English language.

Interesting that the writer compares the Book of Mormon to slavery and minstrel shows without pointing out the LDS's history with African-Americans. As Andrew Rannels so eloquently states "I believe that in 1978 God changed his mind about black people."
The Church of the LDS has a long history of bigotry against African-Americans, who were, as they themselves preached, a cursed race, for over 100 years. Now that that movement has become uncouth, they've moved on to attack the gay community, which they'll continue to do until that losing battle is lost for good.
Kind of ridiculous to make any sort of argument without seeing the show and bringing any of this up.

Posted: 6/26/11 at 8:49amThe references to pluralism are particularly amusing, given prop 8.

Book of Mormon and its love affair with the New York theater community will be labeled in the not too distant future as one of the great disgraces of our time.
Supporters of racial and sexual orientation rights have no place to hide.
Count on it.

Posted: 6/28/11 at 10:46amThe people who comment on how offensive this show is without seeing it are as ignorant as the people who claimed The Scottsboro Boys was racist for using the minstrel show form without seeing it. Ignorance is far more damaging than any satire or political commentary could ever be. See the show, then form an opinion. And no, if you don't see the show all the way through because you walk out, you're opinion isn't any more valid than the idiot preaching in the Washington Post who didn't see the show at all.

I can't entirely fault a religion that has a proven track record of reshaping itself along cultural changes.
Reading ( well, skimming is a better word. Edward and Jacob aren't my type) Twilight was instructive. Among the Cullens, they showed Freudian, ex-gay and Mormon boy/converted girl relationships. If
