It was announced last week that BoM will open in Stockholm in January 2017. This will be the first translated version of the show, if I'm not mistaken. I am curious how it will be received in the overly PC Sweden.
It's opening in Oslo, Norway next year too! September. Will be translated into Norwegian by one of my favorite Norwegian comedic writers; Are Kalvø.

Good for them. I wonder if they're planning a production in either Korea or Japan. So by Sept. 2017, BOM will have 6 productions running: Broadway, National Tour, London, Australia, Sweden & Norway.
Sweden and Norway will be the same production, obviously translated in their respective language, I would be very surprised if they had both Scandinavian productions open at the same time, as history has told us thay musical theatre has struggled here.
Also a hot bed for musical theatre is Germany, where this hasn't opened yet, I wonder if the German humour would go for this?
I highly doubt the Scandinavian productions will be the same. The Norwegian one is at a theatre where they always do their own shows, and a Norwegian director was just announced.
The Sweden production is opening in January and the Norwegian one in September.

I'd love to see how Hedwig would do there.
