'Bossed Up' from Mean Girls

Tonight, Mean Girls released a special recording of the original Act 2 opener 'Bossed Up' which was obviously replaced by 'Stop'. I think I like this song more.

Just a reminder of why I really hate Mean Girls. Stop isn’t much better, but any excuse for Grey to sing and dance, even if the material isn’t great, is way better IMO.

A few hours before releasing this they posted a tweet/ad introducing Amazon Alexa as a new plastic..and this tweet cracked me up: "what if mean girls released bossed up as an apology for hyping up alexa"

I'm not a fan of Stop but I can't even decide if this is better.  I think it has a few good lyrics but the song overall is pretty bland and doesn't quite fit in with the overall character arc, whereas Stop at least demonstrates a point (even if it belabors it and brings it wildly off track).  Though it's always interesting to see cut material.

I don't LOVE the song, but I think it's a better start to Act 2 (Cady as a the Queen Bee) than Stop.

I only saw the DC tryout, but I didn't even know this was cut from the show. I'm not a big fan of Mean Girls in general, but I did think this did a good job of showing Cady's transition from good girl to Plastic.

I saw the show in D.C. and I guess I had this memory of "Bossed Up" being miles ahead of "Stop." I can see I was wrong now.
