Boy From Oz tickets for Sept 12 now available at Telecharge

This is bizzarre. I've never seen telechare do a mark-up just because it's a milestone performance.

Yeah and I think telecharge knows this and that is why they are trying this mark-up idea.

Whatever it is at telecharge is what is it at the box office is the way it works I think.

In case you're interested, try getting tickets for the last week of the show - I think there are still Rear Mezz seats available from Tuesday to Thursday at regular prices.

Telecharge doesn't do markups; they simply charge a set fee per ticket. The prices are what the theater/producers are charging. They're not the only show that sells premium tickets.

I can't blame them. People have been paying scalpers those prices all along, at least for some of the seats, and they know that tickets to the last show are in high demand.

Why should the scalpers (who have grabbed some of the best seats for some of the last performances) be the ones to get rich?

Ohhh that was for New Years Eve. They ended up having to cancel part of it didn't they? I remember that.

I think the show producers and Telecharge have just delivered a master stroke for the fans! By releasing tickets ( expectedly going to be limited because of demand from the show family itself) at such a date ( people were expecting them only on the last week) and with such timing ( while the Olympics opening was on most people's TVs)- they have caught the brokers unaware and the eBay sellers probably stuck with their inventory now ( until people clamor again for seats which will be sold out eventually). They have successfully undercut what's happening on eBay and with ticket brokers. I've just checked three major brokers' offerings for the last performance and all they've got at the moment were seats from Row R, of course at brokers' pricing. I have done much better than that

Jo, before you get too excited about your seats for the 12th, I will assure you there will be prime seats coming up from the brokers shortly. They have just put in a little inventory just to get the ball rolling. You will be seeing first 10 center orchestra within the next week or so...they just want to see the show sell a little more before they can expect people to pay the prices they are planning on charging. This is coming right from their mouths so bank on it. It is a once in a lifetime event...I know there are orders out there into the thousands (yes thousands) for a front and center ticket for the 12th. Think about it, if you're coming from across the country or across the world as many people are, who cares what the ticket costs if it is the best? This will be the only time in our lives to do this...the sky will be the limit for upfront and center.
