Damn. I had tickets for Tonys weekend.

Not surprising but the closing seems really abrupt. It reminds me of After Midnight in 2014.

Me too. After the Tony nominations were announced though I started to worry, so I went ahead and bought a ticket for Bright Star on the same night as a backup option.

Everyone involved, cast, director, writing team are just such genuinely good people- looking forward to seeing everyone back on broadway very soon

I enjoyed this show a lot. Best to everyone involved for future successes.
Congratulations to all those people who will be getting work on a new show coming into town- and to all those who will gain work on the load in and preparing a new marketing campaign for the next tenant of this theatre..
Congratulations to all those amateur groups who will soon get to license this show. And to the creatives who will earn royalties!
Positive enough?
I feel like they cut it a little quick. They could have milked a few more weeks with people rushing to see it.

They've been hemorrhaging money for weeks. It would have been smarter to announce closing some time back so they could "milk" it, as others have said. There was no denying the numbers.

This made me laugh

Sad news. It was a touching piece. In this day and age, that alone deserves commendation. It was gentle, too --- a rarity indeed in these coarse and callous times. It would have provided good family entertainment for audiences during the summer. It's really a shame.

"Positive enough?"
No. Anything but.
Did they record an album? Because, while I'm sorry for the cast and crew moving on, if the creatives got a record made, it's Mission Accomplished for a little-show-that-could like this one. Record means exposure, Broadway run means legitimacy, they'll get licensed, and TUCK will have a better life out of NYC than it ever could have in.

I guess it was inevitable because of their grosses. Sad to see it go however.

Had a ticket for next Wednesday......but I did manage to pick one up for Sunday night's final bow since there won't be a Wednesday.
Wasn't this directed by Casey Nicholas? with his long string of hits I guess he had to have a flop eventually. it will have played 39 performances when it closes, that's the lowest number we've seen in a while right? what was the last show to close that quickly?

I wanna say Living on Love, Dr. Zhivago or Holler if ya Hear Me. Probably the first one.
Hughie only played 37 performances of its scheduled run this season. If we're just talking musicals, Holler If Ya Hear Me played 38 performances and Doctor Zhivago played 23.

wow I felt like Zhivago was around and annoying us all for much longer than that.
Just got tickets to closing night. I haven't seen the show yet but it was on my radar, and with the news of the closing I jumped on it. Plus I've never seen a show on closing night!
I hope Brooklyn shuck and the standby get to go on!
Shuck went on last week as the little boy.
Sad news, indeed.
Caught this on the 13th. Christopher Gurr was on as "The Man in the Yellow Suit". Has anyone else seen him go on for Terry? Curious as to what you thought of his performance. I personally loved his energy, you could see how much joy he had up there.
Best wishes to all involved in your future endeavors. Thanks for the memories.

This is sad. While it wasn't perfect, there were lots of elements to this show worth championing. I'm pretty booked up this week. I might be able to sneak in a Sunday show but it's doubtful. I'm glad I at least got to see it the one time.

I so wish a good new musical would come along for Terrance Mann. I'd love to see him in a successful new show. He was my favorite part of this one.
This show wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm sorry it didn't find an audience. I would've expected it to do better with the family demographic. Sorry for all those involved.
