Count me in with those who got the ‘no beanie’ performances email today while I appreciate the heads up, I’m still choosing a refund… canceling performances this early in the run and I’m going to choose to cancel too sorry beanie
Interesting to note, that if you go on ticketmaster and look at Wicked, it actually has cancelled shows through February 28, 2021 (tickets avail March 1 and beyond)
Agreed about it being disappointing. On paper it looked like it couldn't miss (and it was an incredibly hot ticket), but there was very little energy on-stage the night I saw it.
Remdesivir is showing effectiveness in trials, but it is only for TREATMENT once you have contracted the virus. So thus, the virus still remains around and highly contagious (leading to outbreaks and overwhelming the health system). This will not help with the fear of getting large amounts of people into a theatre. We need a vaccine to get to that point. It's that simple.
Theaters won't be back to normal until social distancing rules are relaxed, which will probably be in the very late fall. It seems that the movie studios are comfortable with November / December releases, and I think we should all should expect the same for broadway, not any earlier than that.
Per telecharge, it’s going to be at the Booth https://mtc.telecharge.com/mobile/eventoverview.aspx?productId=12976&CityId=20&CityName=NY%2520City%2520Area&BID=0
Aren't copies of the weekend Arts & Leisure delivered to media people Thursday? (they did that as of a few years ago when I worked as an assistant at a talent agency)... So surprised that word of what theatre hasn't leaked yet.
Just out of curiousity looked at Saturday in January to see how tickets were selling- kind of surprised to see that most of the house is still available- maybe it's not as big of a hit as people want you to believe: https://www1.ticketmaster.com/moulin-rouge-the-musical-ny/event/3000556FC9C818B1
For all this talk of Be More Chill having the chance to do great this summer, I looked at some random Saturday matinees and evenings in July, and all look like they have a HUGE amount of inventory available.
Just saw a commercial for this 'starting August 1' on local NBC at around 545am... they said for tickets go to batoutofhellmusical.com, but when I go to that site, it has no ticket information... Amazing to have commercials running and no ability to buy tickets.
