I was soooo looking forward to seeing this in the fall. I guess I will have to wait a bit longer, won't I?
My apologies Showoff.
And what is Boston going to do ?
As for me, I'm not happy about this. And it did catch me by surprize. But as for me, I have Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. To get me thru the Fall and Winter. And then the World Champion Boston Celtics. And lots of local theatre companies. My world doesn't just revole around B'Way. It's a part of it. Thanks for your concern. joe

Looks like Spencer Liff made the right decision about joining Equus.
That really disappointing, I was looking forward to seeing this. There seems to be quite a real estate issue going on Broadway, more theatres need to be built.
Oh well!
It's good .. I did my cardio first!
Showoff-my apology!
Edit: Sorry for Nick Adams too!

Wow. I just was surfing the net to see if tickets were on sale yet and I came upon this news. I'll be in Boston for a day during what was supposed to be the early part of the run.
I am bummed. I'm taking a trip with friends up and down the coast of Maine and thought that this would have been a nice extra treat.
My Sobriquet- If you have a car~ you guys can drive to Goodspeed in Chester CT.
There is STILL another Pre-Broadway Try-out of THE STORY OF MY LIFE! starring Will Chase & Malcolm Gets. It's also good to visit Goodspeed:
Do you know that Goodspeed is the ONLY Regional Theater that won TWO Tonys for Best Regional Theater? in 1980 and 1995 and sent 16 of their productions on Broadway. ANNIE , MAN OF LA MANCHA, BY JEEVES (US production), ALL SHOOK UP and 13 ~all had their beginnings at Goodspeed!
More info:
http://www.goodspeed.org/shows_more.aspx?id=1008
But to think about it? they really DONT have a theater in NYC neither to TRANSFER? hmmmm..
Also you may wanna check Regional Theaters here like Huntington, American Repertory Theater, SpeakEAsy and even North Shore Music Theater~now that's on up way to Maine (sort of)
Here's the info for discount tix on Regional Theaters:
http://www.artsboston.org/
Hope that helps!

Now, how many Broadway houses are there?
How many shows are running or coming in?
This leaves several theatres dark, doesn't it?
So how can there beno theatre available?
or by then...
they may have a "theater" already that's available~like shows that wont survive! I still dont know as why BRIGADOON cancelled~they might be eyeing for a bigger theaters like The Palace or Marquis~which is not available anymore!
Oh well! Bostonians are TOUGH! We did not see Christina Applegate in SWEET CHARITY try-out here, instead we saw Charlotte d'Amboise. we survived!

Now, how many Broadway houses are there?
I think there are 38 Broadway houses right now, but you may wanna verify that with smaxie- he knows a lot of INFO about broadway theaters! I usally ask him if I am unsure?
37 or 38 operating Broadway Theaters?

"more theatres need to be built."
Taht would be nice -- as long as there are enough shows to fill them.
Yay! I got a reprieve!
13 should have open at Circle in the Square. Their sets would work better in Circle.. oh well.. they really did not know about COLORED GIRLS and they are already booked at Jacobs.
I was just listening to Brigadoon 1992 recording this morning before this thread came out! Now we only have PAL JOEY, DANCIN', WEST SIDE STORY and GODSPELL for Revival this year! Did I miss anything? at least they are ALL sure to be nominated for Best Revival by Default again like last season!

And ibdb.com lists 27 shows currently runnign, which leaves 12 dark houses. And we know that some of what is runnign will be closing soon. (A Chorus Line, for example, is closing in August, and Rent has also posted a closing.)
There is no theatre available? How does that work?
None of those empty theatres will be empty for long. All have fall tenants. And most of the theatres with fall limited run tenants have shows already lined up for the spring.
They are probably looking for a theater that would work for the show financially!
So I guess...WSS would probably win the TONYS (I know its early) I just have the feeling that they would give something to Arthur Laurents before his lifetime (you know what I mean?) Gypsy not winning the revival this year....
Pal Joey would have been close by the TONYS. Dancin' is a dance revue? Godspell-??
I wonder if HAIR would transfer? This will be their chance!!!
