You do realize that your link sends me to a "Birds of Paradise" video on youtube rather then the actual article itself.
"If you try to shag my husband while I am still alive, I will shove the art of motorcycle maintenance up your rancid little Cu**. That's a good dear"
Tom Stoppard's Rock N Roll
gyspy4 posted the casting notice. I've linked the actual article.
It is a rather random creative team, and I'm disappointed the plot is new...I was hoping for a song about "cheerocracies." Playbill article (no Birds of Paradise)
Judging from the subject matter this looks like something I would have exactly zero interest in seeing. But it'll probably get the Wicked/Legally Blonde crowd, since it seems like another 'girl power' musical.
"You drank a charm to kill John Proctor's wife! You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor!" - Betty Parris to Abigail Williams in Arthur Miller's The Crucible
"I honestly think it could work. If only they had the team of legally Blonde working on it.
Yeah, because that worked. (Not.)"
Hmm whilst it may not have recouped on Broadway it sure as hell made up for it on its US Tour, not to mention the fact the show is doing HUGE business in the UK and looks set to recoup there very soon and the cast recording was/is a massive seller.... So yeah, i would say it worked pretty well
This smells of First Wives Club. An insanely popular comedy that is better left to the big screen. Are the cheerleaders "Red-day for change?"
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Surprisingly, the show is not terrible. The script needs some work, but the music is fun and upbeat, and audiences are going to fall in love. The design is simple and effective, and the creative team is just getting ready for final designs, casting, rehearsals, etc. It could shape up to be a good show.
