One-She can't act.
NOw as much as I love WICKED, I am willing to admit that it isn't the best show out there. I am a fan of it because it is my ULTIMATE guilty pleasure show. And it isn't a bad show, it's very entertaining when looking at it from a quality angle. But compare it to FOLLIES or CAROUSEL and it withers in comparison. HOwever, despite a mediocre book, the show DOES call for someone who can act to support it. If yo uwatch Britney's performance in "Crossroads" she makes one face the entire time and her crying scene is extremely forced.
Two-Her range
Some argue that Ms. Spears can sing, others can't. If you listen to her in "Mickey Mouse Club" she most definately can, when she's in her range. But listening to her now all I hear is two or three notes and a computer. She is a PERFORMER. I could never imagine her singing any of Christina Aguilera's songs (who everyone agrees is extremely gifted. She actually could sing some songs of Elphaba's) But her singing "defying Gravity" is Madonna's rendition of "A NEw Argentina" in EVITA. Though I thought Madonna did more than a decent job with EVITA, she could not handle every song.
Three-She is promoting herself for a movie that hasn't been announced to be made yet.
I told you again Tuttle, show me articles from the following: ew.com, ny times, ny post, wall street journal, playbill, or broaday.com and I will believe that there is a movie coming out and then I will think of casting or start a thread about it. Until then your making an arguement over something that there shouldn't be.

Jenna Malone seems a little too young. Not Saying i want a thirty year old to play it, but she just looks like she's fifteen. HOwever, I'm a fan of hers and if she could sing the role I could see it. Loved her in STEPMOM.

I used to get annoyed when people did it but now I am so used to it and I agree. Learn how to spell. And use proper grammer. It's irritating to read all the mis-spelled words. I'm a sucky speller, but at least...read what you write. Effiealba...I'm guessing it should be Elphaba?

You guys are all making a big deal out of nothing. tuttle-if you saw it on the insider, thanwe believe you. However, usually when a movie for something as big as Wicked is announced, it would be all over the internet, newspapers, and on more than one TV show. Also, millions of Wicked fans would have already started a thread for it...so lets not get to riled up here.
On the Britney matter, I think some of us will just have to agree to disagree. Britney is a very good promoter, I'll give her that, but I stand with the majority here that *if* (notice the if) i repeat IF there even IS a movie version in the near furture, I do believe that the main roles may go to someone a bit more...reliable when it comes to movie fans.
Britney may WANT to do the movie, but then again, I want to get an A in honors algebra, but tain't going to happen as of now.

I think a lot of people are confusing something she only WANTS to do with something she actually WILL do.

I agree with munk and Bobby. This is ridiculous and will never happen.

I think it would be really cool if they cast someone new...someone no one knows...let them cast stars in the supporting roles, but like a "star-turn" kind of thing would be nice
