While waiting for a friend of mine, I was enjoying watching the insanity lol There was a guy harassing Dr Joyce Brothers. She is quite possibly one of the sweetest women ever, but instead of just asking if he could take a picture, he was acting like a jerk about it -- darting around and shoving the camera in her face.
Meanwhile, Glen Close and Priscilla Lopez walked right past and nobody even noticed. lol

That puppy that Bernadette was holding was too much to resist!
The kitten broke my heart, though, being there in that cage, and wanting out :[
I also loved the one Laura B. was holding, and the big skinny one with the straps :)
Looks like it was a successful turnout, uh? So glad for the cause, and I do hope it becomes like a big event in New York--or should I say "Mew York(ie)"-- EVERY YEAR...!
You got some good ones in there...
CJR...that was funny about GC and PL going unnoticed!

anyway, that is all.
(I walked by the event today around 6 but didn't have time to stop and check it out, but I definitely want to next year!)

I had to leave as soon as Christine Baranski walked on stage to do the IN THE HEIGHTS lotto (lost) and then the [title of show] lotto (second loss). I wish I had stayed to see the rest of the show.
I did get to see BOEING-BOEING and at the stage door, Baranski talked about enjoying the event.

I felt a little bad for the kitties, but ultimately I think it was better they were inside vans. They were not happy. When Bebe was talking about them, the little one kept hissing and clawing at its handler. It was not a fan of the crowds or the dogs.

Bwaybabe2 ~ Yeah...she was a puppy. I wanna say something like 5 months or 7 months. I know she was young. But she was skinny. And I know what you mean. I used to have a shelter dog when I lived in Illinois. Disney (hey...he started out Harrison) had been abused by a man early in his life, and he NEVER got used to them. When my parents would come and visit, I'd have to tie him to the sofa bed or radiator at night so he wouldn't go and attack my father. And apparently a lot of his bad stuff happened in or near the kitchen because certain appliances (the toaster and blender especially) would send him running to cower in my bedroom.

Whenever I walked by, that was the most crowded table. (I got an Aida Playbill signed by the Original Cast and an Annie Get Your Gun Playbill signed by Bernadette and Tom.) Anything for animals.

I fell in love with so many of those dogs. They were all total sweethearts.
I wish we had Broadway Barks twice a year!

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

I hear ya, Ray! I had the same experience. I am not a fan of staring at people's backs and being packed in like sardines. I stayed for the experience but not sure I would've lasted as long as I did if it was super hot out (thankfully I felt pretty shaded)
That aside, it was great to see so many people there to support the cause. I wonder if they broke their record of how many pets got adopted last year. The dog with the casts that Sebastian introduced broke my heart. They were all so cute!

There was a dog that was presented for adoption onstage from BARC that I have actually walked a few times when I've volunteered; his name is Merle. I got so excited when I saw him. He's a big, lovable pit bull mix and while I wish I could take him home/I would love to continue walking him, I really hope he was adopted! He's great and playful and a big bundle of love.

I don't know why it's rotated...tinypic has never done that before. Sorry the photo is gigantic.
