Broadway Bears X is fast approaching...and I wanted to post a reminder! Some of the bears are up for viewing on the Broadway Cares site:
http://bcefa.org/events/bears.cfm
Come out and support the cause! There are several BWW members who work in the costuming arena who produce bears for the event...and this years selection is awesome...as always!
Hope to see some BWW'ers there!

PS And ain't that Benny bear from RENT too cute?! ;O )

I have to say that the Leaf Coneybear one is possibly THE cutest thing I've ever seen.

I love the Leaf and Little Old Lady Bears. So cute. Although the bear has two toe matching toe socks, and doesn't the real leaf wear one toe sock and then some other unmatching sock?

Posted: 1/25/07 at 9:03pmI'm almost afraid to ask, but what do the bears usually go for?
#18re: Broadway Bears X
Posted: 1/26/07 at 9:57amThe bears can go for just about anything! If there is a silent bidder(s), then the bear will start off a bit higher. I've seen bears sell for $300. I've seen bears sell for $30,000. Usually, the bears average a $2k-$6k range. Whatever they sell for, it's a great evening and the money from the benefit goes to such an amazing organization. The room is usually full of celebrity faces...so it's neat just to see who will be there! As for the time, don't quote me on this, but the VIP preview party usually begins an hour before the auction. I believe an additional ticket is required for this. You can call Broadway Cares at (212) 840-0770, ext. 268 to find out more details.
