Broadway Belles

I just read an article about the fabulous Ashley Brown, which indicated that she is the 15th Belle in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast, and it got me thinking about who the other Belles were, so started to compile a list:

Susan Egan
Sarah Uriarte Berry
Kerry Butler
Kim Huber
Toni Braxton
Andrea McArdle
Sarah Litzsinger
Jamie Lynn Siegler
Ann Sanders
Cristy Carlson Romano
Megan McGinnis
Brooke Tansley
Ashley Brown

That's 13. Which two Belles am I missing??

re: Broadway Belles

I REALLY wish I had see Erin Dilly as Belle (she was on tour)! Her voice is amazing and I know I would have loved her!
What is your dream role?
My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). I enjoy escaping and portraying other characters, but to be accepted and wanted as yourself... that's amazing! --Stephanie J. Block Just one of the many reasons I admire and respect Stephanie!!

re: Broadway Belles

DUH!! How could I forget her.

That leaves but one mysterious Belle...

re: Broadway Belles

and the other one your missing i believe is Christianne Tisdale

re: Broadway Belles

Thanks, musicalfandukie!

Who is Christiane Tisdale? That name is entirely unfamilar to me. When did she do the show? Has she done anything since?

re: Broadway Belles

Two of those Belles, Ann Sanders and Sarah Uriarte Berry, are currently still working on Broadway (Ann in Avenue Q and Sarah in The Light in the Piazza)

re: Broadway Belles

honestly i'm not that familiar with her..i figured out Deborah Gibson right away but i cheated and look at the broadway database cause i couldn't figure out who was the missing belle. the broadway database says her only other broadway credit was triumpth of love where she was an understudy for Susan Egan. she was also in the off-broadway musical Fermat's Last Tango.

re: Broadway Belles

Christianne Tisdale did a three-month stint after Sarah Uriarte Berry. She had been an understudy (like Ann Sanders and Sarah Litzsinger were) before was contracted to play it. She has done a lot of regional stuff since, but I don't know what other Broadway credits she has.

re: Broadway Belles

you are also missing my friend Jen Shrader....

re: Broadway Belles

You're also missing Jessica Boevers.

EDIT: Never mind. You're not missing her. It says in her playbill bio that she covered Belle, but it's not showing up on IBDB at all.

re: Broadway Belles

Shrader performed Belle in the tour, but never came to Broadway.

I think we have the list of 15.

Thanks all.

re: Broadway Belles

Speaking of Sarah Litzsinger...does ANYONE know if she is up to anything? I absolutely ADORE her. Saw her in The Last 5 Years and tick, tick...BOOM! at GSP with Colin Hanlon. She doesn't have a fansite, but does anyone have insight.

re: Broadway Belles

It's actually Christianne (with two n's), but I'm just nitpicking...She's great...She was on the CD and the video of the stage production of A TALE OF CINDERELLA...She also has a CD out via her website...It's a pretty CD, various lullabies from all over the world.

As for Sarah Litzsinger, last I read she did that reading of BEHIND THE LIMELIGHT up at Vassar last summer.

re: Broadway Belles

I have the Playbill of Erin Dilly on tour, but she was out that night in Boston.

re: Broadway Belles

30/90, I've been wondering the same thing since Amour closed. I adore her as well.

re: Broadway Belles

Sarah did play one of Charlie Chaplin's wives in the reading of BEHIND THE LIMELIGHT. I think she also did the recent production of NERDS at the NYMF.

re: Broadway Belles

Christianne Tisdale also covered Susan Egan in Triumph of Love. She happened to be on the day I saw it. She was wonderful. She made a very good Belle as well.

re: Broadway Belles

Jessica Boevers was one of the Belle understudies. Yes, she went on, but she was not under contract as Belle.

re: Broadway Belles

I wish I had seen Megan McGinnis as Belle. I adore her.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
