Has anybody ever seen any serious bloopers at a Broadway show? I mean like REALLY bad- falls, wigs or shoes flying off, actors breaking character, Elphie falling off her platform, mess-ups in the Legally Blonde jump rope scene. I'd really appreciate some ones from Wicked or Spring Awakening!
I was playing in B-Way pit for Sound of Music (perc/drumset) a few years back. It was the veranda scene in A2 ~ Frau Schmidt was turning to leave after the captain dumps her, when she turned, she missed the first stair on the steps and wiped OUT. I mean she went DOWN HARD! WHAM! The audience gasps, she picks herself up and hobbles off. Max completely forgets to make his entrance on stage; Maria’s mic isn’t working so she is being bombarded by the audio team, so the captain is left to ad lib – alone on stage making up lines – for 90 seconds! Rolfe makes his entrance to deliver a telegram, realizes the nightmare he has walked into – then he BAILS! without saying a word! - - - - I forget how that show ended - - we were laughing pretty hard down below the stage!

It's just a reminder that Broadway performers are human and do flub sometimes. :)
"We need people not to come to Broadway shows wearing shorts and flip-flops. We are working hard up here folks. Find a pair of socks."-Joanna Gleason
