Bump...
Any new news? Anyone find out what is at SEMINAR? Did PORGY + BESS start participating? Death of a Salesman?

Posted: 3/21/12 at 4:44pmI was a BC/EFA volunteer for Seminar a couple days ago and we weren't offering anything -- I'm not sure if they were onstage (I couldn't really hear the curtain speech). I don't think so since someone coming out of the show asked me if we were selling autographed playbills.

Posted: 3/21/12 at 6:14pmThey didn't collect at How to Succeed this past Sunday. I went in ready to bid on that bow tie, but came out empty-handed.

PastorErnst: BCEFA will be collecting for exactly another month so you have plenty of time to try to get a bowtie.
Any new updates?

While not Broadway, the 25th Anniversary Tour of "Les Miserables" is also collecting. The night I went, they had:
$? - Photos with the Master of the House and his Wife (Eponine's parents)
$5 - "dream the dream" wristbands
$10 - shot glasses that said "Drink With Me"
$25 - cast-signed Playbill
$50 - I forget, sorry :-P
$100 - cast-signed poster
$250 - Fantine's letter from the show, signed by the cast and framed, or one of the Tri-Colors, signed by the cast, or the baton the conductor used that evening, or there was one more prop that Javert used, but I don't remember what it was.
They also had the red buckets, and all the actors I overheard seemed very sweet when people gave donations, and they didn't mind chatting to the people as they headed out (especially to the kids).

PORGY AND BESS is participating.
Posters are $100 and playbills are (I believe) $40 but they ran out of them tonight and were selling out of the posters very quickly.

Posted: 3/27/12 at 1:10amOn Saturdays Seminar is auctioning off signed posters and a chance to go backstage and meet the cast. Two bidders went up to $500 this week, so they let both of them come backstage.

Priscilla had signed windowcards for $40 and was auctioning an Austrailian Barbie signed by the cast.
Sadly, Venus in Fur was doing nothing. I would have loved a signed windowcard.

Posted: 3/28/12 at 1:10amBettyboy72 - I'd suggest getting a poster at the theater and going to the stage door (which is on 46th street). Since it is just a cast of two, it'll only take you one visit to the theater and when I was there, they were both out within 30 minutes and that was because they had guests. I would assume they'd be out a little quicker when they don't have visitors.

Posted: 3/28/12 at 2:33amIt's worth noting that Broadway Cares isn't limited to shows on Broadway. I saw the American Idiot touring production at the Ahmanson in Los Angeles tonight and they were collecting. They also had signed posters for $40.

Posted: 3/28/12 at 5:28ameponine88 - Can you tell me a little more about the poster deal at SEMINAR? Are those only available on Saturday or are they available throughout the week and just the backstage tour is on Saturday? Is it after both the matinee or evening? Do they have multiple posters or is it just one they are selling? Thanks! (If you couldn't tell I'd really like to get one of them).

BoM has a poster signed by the cast for $250.
Also, I don't know if Josh Gad was given carte blanche in his donation-plea speech on Sunday, but he had a few choice words for Mary Poppins. If their hands covering their mouths and faces were any indication, his castmates also weren't prepared for jokes about how much coke Ms. Poppins' needs to do to fit a certain number of c*cks in her c*unt.

Amazing moment at Memphis tonight.
They usually sell their signed windowcards for $60, but since they only had one poster left they decided to auction it on stage after the show. There were two bidders who kept increasing it by $25-50 until it was at $525 and then at the very last moment, one man bid $1000! At which point the entire Orchestra section lept to their feet to give the bidder a standing ovation!

Sister Act:
New Signed Posters: $40 (They don't even sell the posters unframed anywhere so I got one because they looked pretty great, low price especially with it signed by Raven!)
Disco Glasses: $5 OR $10
Backstage Tour for 3 or 4 and picture on stage: $75

Video of one of the bow tie auctions at How to Succeed--try to ignore the hyperventilating girl shooting the video.

The bow ties have been going for between $1000-$2000 each time, especially since it now includes a backstage tour and personal meet and greet with Nick.

Evita doesn't open officially until Thursday night, so it is still in previews. I hope that they get right on it and start participating in the 3 weeks they have remaining...same deal with BEST MAN since they opened officially tonight.
