It's nice for Brooklyn but it needs to improve more than that if it's to last for long. Rent, other than a very few select weeks, has been hovering in the 50's and 60's for months. Hopefully, it'll hang on long enough for the release of the movie to perhaps give it a boost.

If the Rent movie actually films, there's no way they'll let the show close before the movie opening. Their weekly expenses aren't very high, and I'm sure they have enough money squirreled away somewhere to pay for money-losing weeks.

I think Halloween being this past weekend had an effect. The one show that surprized me was Dracula, it actually lost 2.something percent on a week when thoughts of vampires should be high.
As for Forever Tango,I have seen lots of their TV ads lately, and I'm wondering how can they afford it.
I'm especially sad to see Wonderful Town drop so much last week, but I think they'll bounce right back and do great during the holidays.
I don't think that Rent is in all that much danger. The movie and a LARGE group of fans will keepit running for a very long time.

If Rent posts a cloing notice within 60 years, there will be mass hysteria and hoards of weeping rentheads in costume or rent t-shirts chaining themselves to the walls of the nederlander.
funny image, but I seriously doubt Rent will close any time in the near future.
Variety said break even for Brooklyn is only 300,000 so it wont close anytime soon if it is always above that.. they have previews in their budget.
Ouch. Wonderful Town suffered a HUGE slip ( down 22% to 55%)...was Brooke out or something or was her entrance in the show just a temporary ticket-selling incentive? What do you think?
Wonderful Town is too Wonderful to close
I don't want it to close!!

Brooklyn will get stronger and stronger the more that it is seen.It will overcome the initial reviews. The recent reviews have been great.
The recent reviews by ......????? Show me (2) "GREAT" reviews... Please...
There are many positive BKLYN reviews after the opening night ones. I'll copy-paste them soon. See ya
You can find more then 6 GREAT reviews about BROOKLYN from different sources at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BrooklynTheMusical/
personally there are some shows that should close and make room for some new shows or revivals (IMO)
Tiny,
I dont want message board reviews from a bunch of 13 year old girls that stood outside of the theater to give Eden roses... and the poster stated that the recent reviews have been "great". Show me two "great" "Bklyn" reviews from a reputable publication and/ or media source.
Nice link, Tiny... a "Bklyn" Yahoo message board.... Is that where you guys meet to decide how to spin the show into something decent? Come on now....

Sorry, I forgot, there are no intelligent people outside of New York. This is a Danbury paper. People from Conn. go to shows too. Don't be so pompous.
