That is a sweet jump for Gypsy.
Go GYPSY!
Glad to see IN THE HEIGHTS and AUGUST: OC go up :)
When are 13 and A TALE OF TWO CITIES letting those theatres go?
Jeez, CHICAGO is still hangin' tough.
Ouch, SPRING AWAKENING.
And I'm happy THE SEAGULL is doing so well...I'm very surprised it's such a hit. I'll have to see it soon...
And GO GYPSY.
I honestly hope ATOTC manages to last until next spring, by the looks of all the closes and some of these grosses it might be good for it to be one of the "new" musical options!

How can they? They've been losing money since it opened.
blaxx, I more than know that! I just meant maybe they're hoping that with all these closings in the upcoming months (and the three we just saw) there's a chance for them to bring in some money inbetween now the Tony's? Perhaps it will make money then, although it doesn't look too logical.
And recently, they haven't been THAT FAR off of the projected weekly running costs (Reported to be $500,000-$650,000); now I can't lie and say it's terrific they're 80,000 off at the minimum, but it could be much worse??!
I'm surprised Legally Blonde didn't get more money... there wasn't much of a difference between the two weeks. I thought that with it closing, people would be swarming in.
How much longer will you hold on, Spring Awakening?
And 13...yikes!

As bad as its grosses are, I can't imagine 13 is losing all that much money. Not as much as ATOTC, at least... when it will post a closing notice?
It's been worse.
yay for la lupone. =]
13 might not be losing too much money but with those grosses and that awful percentage, any production that wants the theatre and makes the owners of the Jacobs happy could kick that awful thing out. Hopefully it'll happen soon.
Now supposedly, TALE OF TWO CITIES is staying put since the producers allegedly will put as much money into it as possible...how unfortunate.

Except for the people that happen to enjoy the show, not to mention the people working for/with the production.

Yeah the producers seem pretty determined to keep it open. And there seems to be a lot of them (judging by the photos from Opening Night)! I'm sure it'll somehow end up like The Scarlet Pimpernel again and have producers come in from all over and manage to have a decent run, but probably not pay back (like LB a little too, except they both had a major "producer"/cash influence in their favors, and Tale doesn't..yet?).

I saw A Tale of Two Cities this past Sunday. They had a full house and a very receptive audience. I know people who have gone back to see it several times. I liked it and will undoubtedly see it again.
Yeah, I guess you're part of the 50% capacity... sure that will make it recoup one of these weeks.

Sorry for the bump, but why did CHICAGO jump so high? Did they get another B-lister in there?
There is no star in CHICAGO, and there hasn't been for a while. It's still doing great business because it's a great musical that people still want to see.
