Now I see why "Shrek" has to close. I still hope that they won't advance the closing though like they did with "A Tale of Two Cities."

Finian's offered a nice discount for previews, hopefully that average ticket will go up once they open.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

is finians only doing 7 performances a week throughout previews? an eighth performance would have brought their grosses close to 400,000 for the week, which is actually pretty respectable for previews, AND an average ticket price of only 40 dollars

I'll take the wind and soar.

Mmm, I wonder where the people who are supposedly killing for a ticket to watch Memphis and the every night sold out shows are?

yeah, Memphis' numbers are decent but it's not exactly selling out. And it's always on TKTS for 50% off plus there's numerous discounts out there. When it's average ticket is over $80 and there capacity over 90%, then we can call it a hit.

Phantom definitely took a little dive, but it will come back up... as for Mary Poppins... I do not know how much longer it will be around

What??? Phantom is doing just fine. Yes there was a dip, but those numbers aren't anything to worry about. For a show that's been playing for 304823415 years, it is doing extremely well and even at such a slow time period and with big competition. I'm not really a fan of the show, but its numbers always amaze me. Good for it.

"Mary Poppins"'s grosees were worse last year around this time, but they kept it open. It's already recouped.
