Ouch. Tough week. Is this because of the strike?
Poor Woman in White. 53%!
Souvenir at 20%... Wow. Just wow.

Sweeney is doing quite good. It's making a nice amount of money weekly, and I feel if it stays above 70% attendance, it's absolutley fine.
Chita, my Chita. This was a bad week for most shows. I have faith Chita can improve gross wise.

not to be rude, but, do they pay Latinologuers in pesos?
How can they be open with those numbers?

Posted: 12/27/05 at 5:59pmSweeney's been in the sixties... Will it stay open at that? I'm really glad it improved last week, but I don't know if its good fortune will last.

Sweeney is VERY cheap to run. And as I've said - it's making a great amount of money each week. And it's only on TKTS once a week usually (excluding the strike week.)
I have no doubt it will DEFINITELY run until LuPone leaves.

Posted: 12/27/05 at 6:08pmThat makes me feel better, ljay. I hope it can stay open without Patti, though. As previously discussed, a lot of us think Victoria Clark would make an amazing Mrs. Lovett. I bet Kelli O'Hara would sound great on Johanna's songs, too, though from what I've read she's not interested in the damsel-in-distress roles. Wouldn't it be funny if they were in it together, though? Playing mother and daughter again...

Ok, since Sweeny, with it's numbers, will stay open for as long as Patii is in it, does anybody know how long she is planned to be in it for?
P.S. I bet Sweeny's numbers will go up after everybody sees how many "top ten" lists it's on.

The week leading up to Christmas has traditionally been the worst week of the year for Broadway. The week following Christmas is traditionally Broadway's biggest week.
SWEENEY was one of few shows to make a gain this week, and its doing better than WOMAN IN WHITE.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
