Great start for Pippin! Motown is really going strong! I did not see that one coming!

Will be interesting if the Newsies free ticket lottery dent sales in any way, I think the decrease in gross despite increased attendance is the reason.

I thought matilda would have been doing better, even this early on. Newsies beat it which has been running a year

I'm really not too worried about Matilda's grosses, it has yet to open, there were discounts before it stated previews, but they have since been pulled, and word is quickly spreading. Once the reviews hit I'm sure we will all be singing a different tune! Plus, over $800K in previews is still pretty darn good!

I'm happy to still see 'Cinderella' do so well despite its mixed reviews.

Realize that Matilda is only playing 7 performances a week during previews, so if it did do a 8 performance week the show would have made 966,000. Add to that the fact that the producers have publicly stated that they learned from the mistakes of Billy Elliot and that they have been able to cut down the running cost from what would have likely been a profit killing $800,000 a week to around $600,000 a week.

Its Easter/Passover vacation here in NYC, and those damn rolling Spring breaks have begun as well.

Attendance should bump up at just about everything these next few weeks.

MATILDA, not everyone is hot to see it.

MOTOWN, dont underestimate the draw of the MOTOWN catalog, they are going for the music, not the story

Cinderella is the next Mary Poppins. Decent musical with spectacular special effects that is catered towards families. I loved the show. I hope it has a long life on Broadway!

I'm guessing that includes standing room although does Motown have an orchestra or are the musicians onstage, the lack of an orchestra pit would allow more seats to be added.

that's SRO for Motown. The Lunt has standing room available. As for The Lion King, did the Minskoff recently add in SRO?? Their capacity is at 100.4%??

and Pippin almost out-grossed Hands on a Hardbody, despite only 2 performances. If Hands... doesn't get some kind of decent crowds the next two weeks, I'd imagine it'll be gone.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
