If they still have a consistent audience, but just not enough people to fill a thousand-seat theatre, I wonder if there may be an appetite for a transfer to an off-Broadway Shubert house."
It feels slightly unethical of me to agree since I do work at Come From Away (not solely, I work at several shows) but do not work at Dear Evan Hansen, but this has mostly been what I’ve observed working. There’s plenty of repeat visitors and tourists, but it’s not exactly a hot ticket. My personal opinion has always been if the show had more media coverage it would be more popular, and the proshot being on Apple TV is not very accessible compared to Netflix or Hulu.
Dear Evan Hansen is just dated. It was always bordering on actually offensive anyway, so it’s just not aging well.
