The Public Theater - Ethan Lipton’s “The Seat of Our Pants”

RippedMan said: "Could this move uptown? Pretty dry season for new musicals."

I wish, but I doubt it unless another nonprofit wants to take it on. The LCT revival was a massive flop, so what producer would want to take on a musical version?

I will also say that Quizking posted their same post on Reddit and received a lot more concurring opinions than they did here. R/Broadway has its own type of niche theatre people, I’m not sure it’s SO

It’s because it’s a 3-act show but they’ve decided to only have an intermission between acts 1 and 2. I think they really should have a break of some kind between a

I absolutely loved this! I thought the score was fantastic and Lipton really understand this material. He does a great job pairing lovely melodies with silly and absurd lyrics in a way that somehow makes them seem deep and introspective. It’s a perfect fit for the show.

The cast was great across the board, but I’d agree that Miles, Diamond, and Bonino were the standouts. All three have cracked characters that can be tough to crack and also really get the materia

Featured Actress in a Musical feels barren this year to me.

I was just looking at my GoldDerby and noticing that. It's bizarrely thin.

As far as Mincemeat, it wouldn't surprise me they if they did this to clear out Cumming from a crowded featured actor field to further

If I'm MTC and CamMac looking at the jam packed musical slate, I'd be lobbying my hardest to get categorized as a special event and get considered for a special Tony. Don't think they'll have much of a chance in any of the musical categories, but could have a real chance at a special Tony.

I love Sara Holdren. I think this is another one she just nailed. I agree with her on basically every point she makes.

I was expecting a cave as well. Surprised and disappointed that this time LCT didn't live up to their usual standards of stagedesign.

If they'd done this in the 21/22 season instead of Flying Over Sunset or Skin of Our Teeth, the entire stage would rise up to reveal an intricate cave system. It seems

Saw this tonight and absolutley loved it. Amazing cast doing amazing things. Loved the direction and physical production too. I think Broadway Baby, Send in the Clowns, Losing My Mind, Gotta Get a Gimmick, Everything's Coming Up Roses, and Sunday were the highlights.

I do still have some gripes with the song selection. Too much Follies, too much Company, not nearly enough Sunday, no Assassins, no Whistle, heck, I would KILL to hear I Remember or Take Me to The World live

Always funny when that happens. I noticed it in JOB too. I'm from the Bay Area. I don't think I've ever seen a radiator there.

WE HAD A WORLD - MTC

Absolutely adored this. Harmon is probably my favorite playwright. Love all his stuff. I'd love to see this transfer just because it's so good and deserves to be seen by a bigger audience. But, there is very little I'd trade for the intimacy of this production. You really feel like you're in it with them.

I'd say Harmon got my but in the seat and Gleason and Feldman got me excited. But it was Serralles who I walked away thinking about most. She was just so so

It's making substantially less money than both Redwood and Death Becomes Her in their third weeks.

Death Becomes Her is based on a popular movie has a host of decently attractive names and is in a 1500 seat there, Redwood has Idina Menzel and i

I think Benjamin Button has to be the next big new musical to come over.

There are always so many starry plays on both sides of the pond live and die by their stars and never transfer because of that. Of the big West End ones this season, I'd agree that Much Ado seems most likely just because Lloyd has a history of bringing his stuff over here.

I'm also curious about Kyoto. That looks really really interesting.

Adam Lambert -Cabaret

Finally got to see Adam in the show this afternoon and absolutley loved his performance. Easily the best Emcee I've seen in this production. It was definitely a bit of a quiet Wednesday matinee audience and Adam did some improving early on trying to get people into it. I loved the choices he made with the role and of course his voice is just phenomenal. I did appreciate having a Jewish Emcee too. Not at all a requirement, but I could feel the weight of it.

I absolutely understand the hype challenges. Between this show and Oh Mary, I have the opposite experience to you.

I actually learned about the real Operation Mincemeat in a history of espionage class in 2022. Then I was in London in Spring, 2023 and heard there was musical about it. Ended up, pretty randomly, at their first West End preview and was totally blown away by it.

I didn't get to see Oh Mary until December and, by the time I saw it, the hype was enormous. I

Yankees stop playing Sinatra's 'New York, New York' after home losses

Makes sense to me. It was really uncomfortable watching the Dodgers win the World Series in Yankee Stadium and then Yankees' iconic song starts playing. Brutal, honestly. Save it for the wins.

The fact that we had the same host the year pre-strike, during the strike, and post strike and during the strike was objectively her best hosting performance is pretty freaking damn

Kinda forgot about this and then came back to listen to it a couple days ago. Really fantastic work by Malloy. Most of these songs don't work outside of the show, but that's absolutely not a problem in my book. There are a few true standalone gems though. Basically any time the grandparents are involved is just gorgeous and each of the main three gets a great solo, birch trees for Susan, haze for Sadie, and love always leaves you for Beckett. the berries and the plums might be my

I would like to amend an earlier statement of mine, specifically about the cosmetic changes to the show. I described them "minor." I have since seen a TikTok with some sneaky footage of what A Glitzy Finale looks like on the West End and I realized the changes were bigger than I had previously thought. I still wouldn't describe it as the second coming, there were no changes to the vision. But, there was clearly more money to spend and it really looks great. Much glitzi
